Runescape and Outriders aren't two games that gamers will consider playing together So, seeing a Runescape player addressing r/Outriders could come as a surprise. It did result in an interesting post and a conversation between players of either or both games. It all comes down to one Former Jagex employees: David Osborne, otherwise well-known in the Runescape community as Mod Osborne.
Osborne recently announced on LinkedIn that he's leaving Jagex after fifteen years of editing content in narrative design, design, and lead design. It's a choice he made according to him, to "test [his] experience in the rest of the field." Osborne is leaving Jagex and going straight into Square Enix on the publishing side, where he will be a Senior Designer. He'll be responsible for "some excellent games" starting with Outriders.
The news prompted Redditor FatNWackyRS to contact the r/Outriders community with a brief message on Mod Osborne and his reputation, describing him as the "warm and friendly "Dad" face of Jagex." FatNWackyRS describes the various things Osborne has been doing for the community over time, including some videos, including appearing as Mod Elfborne to buy OSRS gold promote Prifddinas (an Elf City in Runescape) and joining livestreams and supporting the company's vision.
