It’s essential to make the most of your practice time, be it a beginner or an intermediate level guitar player. I strongly recommend my students to follow a routine for practice. You can start by listening to your favourite song on a Bluetooth speaker, you can pick one from this list if you do not have one right now.
By listening to a song that you want to play on guitar, gives you more idea of the rhythm and guitar riffs. You also have to maintain a daily practice routine for different finger exercises. For that, I would suggest you use a timer for keeping your routine under control. You cannot spend your 30 minutes on scales if you only have an hour for practicing. You have to make sure that the exercises on the guitar are even for helping you meet your goals. Before each practice session, try a 5-minute focus technique. Don’t worry if your exercises are not complete, you can try to do as much as you can in a given time. It’s also essential to understand what you want to achieve. It’s best to make short term goals and aim to achieve them. You can try to set goals for every area of your practice routine.
Finally, practice as much as you can. If you cannot practice for 4 to 8 hours or more, try to practice at least for an hour or two daily. This will keep you in a touch with your exercising and guitar playing routine.
