"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"
Patients who want to look younger often visit our Lenexa clinic to ask questions. We asked Dr. Margolin for his advice to patients who may have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatment. Dr. Margolin told us that he is an M.D. and not a magician. I get that people want to look their very best. Everyone wants to feel great. BOTOX may temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles, but these treatments cannot make people look as good or famous as they did in college.
What are the Aesthetic Injectables Treatments?
Dr. Margolin compares aging skin to a piece if paper. If you took a piece paper and folded it repeatedly over the years, you would get permanent creases. This is what happens with our skin. BOTOX or JUVEDERM are injectable treatments that temporarily reduce wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles, filling in specific areas, and temporary reducing the appearance of signs of aging.
What is BOTOX and How Does It Work?
The treatment reduces the appearance wrinkles by relaxing facial muscle, but it's not as dramatic and drastic as plastic surgery. BOTOX may be able to help patients with forehead lines and eyebrow creases. BOTOX can soften lines and prevent them from creasing your face. BOTOX won't correct wrinkles or lines that result from facial loss. JUVEDERM and dermal fillers are used to remedy these problems.
What is JUVEDERM exactly?
Although it may seem counterintuitive, fat around the cheeks and forehead decreases with age. Our faces lose fat and our skin sags. The loss of facial volume can also cause laugh lines and other wrinkles.
To restore facial volume, injectable fillers are also known by their other name: dermal fillers. JUVEDERM is one type of filler. What is the difference of Juvederm/BOTOX? Both treatments have similar outcomes but the active components differ. BOTOX
BOTOX, a non-invasive wrinkle treatment, is also available. However it is made with very different ingredients. BOTOX injections can relax and soften wrinkles. BOTOX is a treatment that smoothens lines and softens the appearance of wrinkles. It can be used in these ways:
Vertical lines between eyebrows (also called "glabellar lines")
Eye wrinkles (crow's feet).

Juvederm
Juvederm is an non-invasive treatment and does not require surgery. Each treatment contains a gel containing hyaluronic to "fill" any visible wrinkles. Different types of volumizing solutions are available to adults in various formulations. They can be used to treat different types of wrinkles.

What to Expect from BOTOX or Juvederm treatments
It takes only a few moments to complete Juvederm and Botox procedures. They are also very efficient. Larger areas of skin might require more treatment due to the high number of required injections.
How long each treatment lasts
While both treatments are effective, Juvederm is faster and lasts for longer. BOTOX can be used for just a few days. The effects will fade in a few months. You can maintain your results by receiving additional treatments. According to the manufacturer, Juvederm filler injections can be seen immediately.
BOTOX injections such as Juvederm take just a few minutes and are very painless. The larger the area that you require, the more injectables you will need. Multiple injections may take slightly longer to complete. To see results from BOTOX treatments, it can take up 24 to 48 hour.
The Results of Treatments
These are the main differences in the outcomes of each therapy. Juvederm injections might have immediate effects.
