Highlights

Los Angeles sights begin at the train station, which is famous and has its own history. The train station is open to the public 24 hours a day, and admission is free.

HOLLYWOOD

Today, the HOLLYWOOD letters are a landmark; they appeared about 100 years ago to attract buyers of land outside the city. They still entice tourists and travelers to this day, and in the 1970s, they were replaced with steel letters. It's every tourist's dream to take a picture in front of the giant letters.

Hollywood Alley

The original idea for the alley was to attract tourists to make up for a shortfall in the city's budget. Today, it is a unique landmark that spans several blocks. It lives and grows and is peppered with new stars.

Rope Streetcars

In the middle of the last century, the question about the expediency of this type of transport was raised. The thing is that many competitors appeared. Nevertheless, it was decided to keep the streetcar, and it was reconstructed. Nowadays, the ropeway streetcar is a tourist attraction and the main form of transportation.

Death Valley

This national park is located in the southeastern part of California, and there are a lot of roads that lead to very unusual and fascinating views. It is best to take an SUV for rent, so you can drive freely through the valley. In the summer, the air here heats up to over 50 degrees Celsius. But this does not prevent plants from growing in these places, and there are about a thousand species! Once upon a time, gold prospectors came here. Not everyone managed to survive - hence the name.

Lake Racetrack Playa

One of the most intriguing places in the world. The dried-up lake is located in Death Valley. The mysterious feature of this attraction is the moving rocks. They are able to move on their own (without human help). This interesting phenomenon is trying to unravel many. To date, no one has yet been able to do so.

Alcatraz Prison

This is a grim medieval structure where villains and criminals (e.g. Al Capone, Robert Stroud) were held. At the sight of solitary cells, narrow corridors, punishment cells, and the icy waters of the bay, which precluded any attempts to escape, one thinks that there is nothing more precious than freedom.

Beverly Hills

Beverly Hills attracts guests with the best Hollywood-style restaurants. If a budding "star" happens to be next to you at a nearby table, don't be surprised. All these establishments are famous for their deliciously diverse cuisine and impeccable service. This place is especially popular with fans of shopping.

Fort Ross

It was once a Russian fort and now is a historic park located in the northern part of the state. The fort was built in 1812. The fur trade was popular then. It was a kind of trading center, where trade was active. This part of California could be called the "Russian state." In 1841, the Russian fort was purchased by explorer John Sutter. Today, there is a museum at Fort Ross.

Yosemite National Park

It is protected by UNESCO. It is home to the highest waterfall in North America, surrounded by the unique and picturesque beauty of nature (alpine meadows, rocks, and groves of age-old trees). There are more than four hundred species of animals! Fans of mountain climbing can conquer granite rock. This is one of the most popular national parks in the western United States.

Griffith Park

This area was the property of Colonel Griffith in the 19th century. Gradually, the infrastructure developed here, a zoo was founded, an observatory and various attractions appeared. It is a favorite spot for hikers and is often the site of a shooting, regardless of the time of year.

Other iconic places everyone should see

The popularity of Los Angeles is based not only on the neighborhoods of Hollywood, Downtown, or Beverly Hills but also on the picturesque suburbs near the ocean coast (Malibu, Santa Monica, Santa Barbara). It's possible to get around them all thanks to SUV rental. In this climate, you will be very happy with a car with air conditioning. Here are the surfers, tourists who are attracted to the local attractions, as well as those who want to walk down the famous streets. Santa Barbara is also home to the famous University of California. Many stars have chosen this paradise for permanent residence.

The most popular resort town is Palm Springs. You can take advantage of SUV rental in Palm Springs. It is a very famous resort town. In addition, San Diego is just two hours away by car. It's a big city that you just have to visit. San Diego Safari Park, the Birch Aquarium, and Sea World Sea Theme Park are located right on the bay. There are many museums and monuments. The San Diego coast, with its amazing beaches (e.g. Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, as well as Ocean Beach and Coronado Beach), attracts the most.

California's scenic nature, many sunny days a year, and the presence of mountains attract ski vacationers. It is safe to say that a vacation in California will appeal to the most discerning of tourists. It will take at least 10 days to see the many attractions in the state, and everyone will be able to choose the most interesting places for themselves.
