Spirit Seat Selectionas with many airlines, offers customers the option to pick their seats before they fly. As a Spirit customer, you receive your assigned seat and your boarding pass, which will include your assigned location and row number. The doors open on the aircraft and you have three options: either take your assigned seat or change it; stand in line if you need to switch rows; or walk past all the people who are standing in line for a chance at an upgrade.

Funny how they don't even show the pictures of their actual Spirit Airlines seat selectionpolicy. They just say to pick your seat and you're good to go. Of course, this is when you're booking your flight online before you pay your money or just buying a ticket over the phone or buying a ticket on the Spirit website (but not booking it in advance)  and then going to check-in and someone will ask if you have any questions about any possible changes to your flight.
