Pokemon Pikachu Ash's Ever Grande Conference match with his friend Morrison got off to a slow start due to Morrison refusing to fight back against his friend. However, after losing both his Girafarig and Growlithe to Ash's dominant Corphish, Morrison snapped out of it and decided to give Ash a real battle, much to the delight of Ash and everybody else in attendance.

In the final of the Kalos League, the Lumiose Conference, Ash faced off against his rival Alain in an intense and frantic 6-on-6 battle. Although it is often remembered for the explosive ending between Mega Charizard and Ash-Greninja, there was a point towards the middle of the battle where Ash's Talonflame faced off against Alain's Unfezant.
