What are the Drawbacks of A Loft Apartment? from David Dean's blog

There are a lot of benefits to choosing to move into a loft apartment. You will have the benefit of being able to enjoy a space that is all your own, one that is big and spacious and will provide you with a lot of flexibility and creativity. Your breath will be taken the moment you walk into the building and see how amazing some of these units can be. But even though there are a number of benefits of choosing to go with this type of living arrangement, there are also some drawbacks that you need to consider as well before you move in. Some of the potential drawbacks include:

# Higher cost for rent: You will usually pay mor for the rent when you move into one of these properties. This is because you get more space and they will be located in the center of a lot of cities. If you are struggling to pay the rent or worried about the costs, then it is time to look into somewhere else.

# Noise issues can be a problem: The large windows and the open floor plan can lead to a higher level of noise from the street traffic and the other units that are nearby. The lack of inside walls and some that lack soundproofing can make this frustrating.

# Lack of privacy: You will find that loft apartments can be really fun to look at, but they do lead to a lack of privacy for a lot of people. Without the distinct rooms that you can get with some of the other apartments, you will not be able to have separate spaces, and the privacy will be gone.

# Challenges for heating and cooling. With the large space and the high ceilings, it can get expensive to heat and cool the apartment. You are not only paying more in order to rent the space, but your utility bill is going to go through the roof at the same time. You will need to consider whether you will be able to afford the extra cost for utilities or not.
