In this kind of situation, the sublessor is going to be accountable for the condition of the apartment and all of the payments for rent to the landlord, because they are the ones who officially have a lease signed with the landlord. So, if there is some reason the sublessee fails to pay the rent or damages something inside of the apartment, then the original tenant is going to be taking over the costs.
