A printer is a device that allows users to make hard copies of soft copy files. It can be used for many different purposes and in a number of different places. 1. You can open the Apple menu by clicking on the apple menu icon on your screen. The apple menu icon is a small, shaded-in apple image.
2. Look for "System preferences" in the top left corner of the Apple menu.
3. Then click on "Printers and scanners" in the window that pops up. You might also see "Print and scan" or "Print and fax". If you can't find it, a printer icon should show up.
4. In the "Printers and scanners" window, click on the printer list. If you're not sure what your printer is called, check the outside of your printer for its name and model number. Then, find that name and number in the list of printers and click on it so it's highlighted in blue.
5. You must click on the minus icon at the end of the printer list to remove the printer from the list. Once you do this, all print jobs sent to the printer will be cleared.
6. You can add a printer by clicking the plus icon at the bottom of the list. The plus button looks like a plus sign. After you click on it, you should see a new window with the word "Add" at the top.
7. Choose your printer from the list of printers in the "Add" window. You may need to scroll through the list of nearby printers to locate yours. Once you have it selected in blue, click on it.
8. You can add your printer back to the printers list by clicking the "Add" button in the bottom right corner of the window. Close the "Add" window after you have added your printer back to the list.
9. Then you can try printing again. Simply open up the program you are working in and click the "Print" button. Select your printer from the list of options and follow the instructions to print your document.
