The World Drugs Report 2012 estimates that there are roughly 27
million problem drug users worldwide. The statistics are even more ominous when
we specifically discuss addictions. According to the report, 14.1% of people
between the ages of 15 and 64 have tried marijuana. Cocaine and opiates make up
2.2% and 0.6% of the population, respectively.
