Suggestions on how to reduce printing color difference from BonnieTacy's blog

Printing chromatic aberration is a common problem in the printing industry, no matter what kind of printed matter will have this problem. Then, as professional book printing companies, the following suggestions are given to reduce the printing color difference.

1: Print the sample before printing the bulk

If you want to understand the printing effect first, you can ask to make a version first. However, the large version is generally divided into two types: one is digital printing, and the other is offset printing. The two use different printing methods and printing machines, and the printing method depends on the requirements for large goods. If the large goods are digitally printed, and the printing plate is digitally printed, the two will not be too big and the colors will be relatively close. Digital can be printed in several sheets, so the cost of pattern making will be lower, but the unit price ratio during mass production will be higher.

If the large quantity is in the thousands or over 10,000, or if you use spot colors in printing, you will basically use offset printing, and it is also recommended to use offset printing (also known as printing on a large machine). Because the use of large-scale printing involves printing plate, plate-making, and machine-on costs, the cost will be much higher than that of digital printing. However, the difference between the finished product and the finished product will be relatively low, and it is easier to adjust the color.

2: Provide the previous printed version

Since most of the printed products will not be preserved, it is difficult for us to know whether the effect of the reprint is similar to the previous one. Therefore, if the color requirements are relatively high, you can send the previous printing samples to the printer for reference. With the real version, the master can adjust the color according to the real version, but it is only applicable to the special version printing, but the real version cannot be used for color matching on the combined version. Because there are many different designs in the combined printing, adjusting one design alone will affect the others together.

3: About combined printing

Due to the development of online marketing, the company's investment in printed materials is not as good as before, and combined printing can indeed reduce expenses. Therefore, in order to use combined printing and want to reduce the problem of printing color difference, we have the following suggestions:

1. Avoid sensitive colors (brown, orange, blue-green, purple, tri-color gray)

2. Avoid using four-color black, should use single black (K100) or bright black (C10 K100)

3. Use a color that is a mixture of two color values

4. Control the total color value within 10 – 250

Printing with spot color

The most effective way to reduce the chromatic aberration of the same batch of printing is, of course, to use spot color printing. There is only your manuscript on the same layout, and the use of spot colors on individual sensitive colors greatly reduces the risk of printing chromatic aberration.

Summary: Mass production of general-purpose products cannot escape the problem of chromatic aberration, which can only be reduced.

No matter which industry it is, as long as it is related to color, there will inevitably be a color difference problem, just like the clothing industry will also have this problem. As consumers, we often see a single product and rarely receive it. Lots of the same product.

As long as there is demand, the Chinese printers will help customers to print satisfactory high-quality products, but the printing quality is proportional to the price and time. To get good quality, you need to spend more time and budget.
