On 18 December 1994, two men kidnaped and raped Alison Botha in the bushes and stabbed her multiple times; that doctors were not able to count her wounds. They even said they hadn't seen this type of injury before. Her throat was slit by a knife, and the rapists left her for dead. They thought that she was dead. One of them also said, No one can be alive after this. The rapists were Frans du Toit and Theuns Kruger. They were known for this type of crime at that time. Finally, they got life sentenced in jail as punishment.

But it was a god's miracle; she survived. She crawled from bushes to the road for help and found a guy named Tiaan Eilerd with a bike. He took her to the hospital. Doctors also thought she could not be saved, but because of god's miracle, she survived. This story is truly inspiring. Let's know how she was before this incident happened.

Alison Botha: Early Life

She was born on 22 September 1967 in Port Elizabeth. She studied at Collegiate Girls' High School. After completing school and for further studies, she studied at Port Elizabeth Technikon and then started working. At the age of 21, she toured South Africa, where she lived for four years. After her return from South Africa, she worked as an Insurance Broker.

After That Incident: 

Her entire life altered on that black night as she said no to death that night. 

She identified them from police photos, and police took both of them into custody. Both the culprits, du Toit and Kruger, were found to be guilty. The charges include kidnap, rape, and murder attempted. In August 1995, They were punished with life in prison. 

She told her full story in the book "I Have Life." Also, a documentary named "Alison" that was released in august 2016 about her story. She has shared her horrible incident and brave survival. Alison has also inspired others by telling how mindset, faith, and will helped her survive that night.

The way in which she survived caught the attention of South Africa and people all across the world. She got the Rotarian Paul Harris Award for 'Courage Beyond the Norm.' She has two children, and For Alison Botha, her two children are her first priority.
