Teams of the same faction will not work with Alterac Valley, given the nature of the Battleground involves players fighting different NPCs of the opposing faction. During the game's weekly reset on July 6. the same-faction matchmaking will not be allowed as Blizzard evaluates data from the past weekend and decides to move forward.

This is just the latest instance of Blizzard showing that it's willing to implement a variety of modifications to Burning Crusade Classic not seen in the initial landmark expansion, following strictly "no changes" policy for WoW Classic. Some of the adjustments, like those to Arena and rolling the game's content for ending games out in phases were received by general approval. Others, like the addition of a paid character boost and mount not seen in the original game, were not as well received.
