Alaska Airlines Pet Policy ☎ +1-845-459-2806 from Cillian Gallian's blog

Alaska Airlines Pet Policy allows pets to travel in the cabin, as well as in the cargo hold, depending on the type of animal, its size, and the route being flown. Here are the details of their pet policy:

1. In-Cabin Pet Policy:

- Alaska Airlines allows small dogs and cats to travel in the cabin with their owners, in an airline-approved carrier that fits under the seat in front of them.

- The pet fee is $100 per pet carrier each way, and the carrier counts as one carry-on item.

- Only one pet carrier is allowed per passenger, and a maximum of two pets can travel in the same carrier if they are from the same household and under 20 pounds each.

- Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned.

- The maximum carrier dimensions are 17" L x 11" W x 9.5" H, and the maximum weight limit of the carrier with the pet is 150 pounds.

2. Cargo Hold Pet Policy:

- Alaska Airlines allows pets to travel in the cargo hold, either as checked baggage or as air cargo.

- The pet fee for checked baggage is $100 each way for travel within the United States, and $200 each way for travel to and from outside the United States.

- The pet fee for air cargo varies based on the weight and destination of the pet and carrier.

- Alaska Airlines only accepts cats and dogs for cargo hold travel. Other pets such as birds, rabbits, and rodents are not allowed.

- Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned.

- The maximum dimensions for the pet carrier are 53" L x 48" W x 34" H, and the maximum weight limit of the carrier with the pet is 150 pounds.

It's important to note that Alaska Airlines has some restrictions on pet travel during extreme temperatures, and also has breed restrictions for in-cabin travel. It's recommended to contact the airline directly for specific details on their pet policy and to make arrangements for pet travel.
