A large number of low-cost Android phones are available, making it difficult to narrow down your choices when shopping for one. If you're in the market for a low-cost Android phone, the number of available options is likely to be overwhelming. With Wi-Fi, 3G, and Bluetooth capabilities, as well as 140MB of internal memory and a 2.8-inch touchscreen small tft display, the Samsung Galaxy Europa (GT-i5500) is a smartphone with a variety of features. It is available in two color options: black and white.
At first glance, the Europa appears to be a well-constructed device, with a gleaming black fascia and metallic frame, as well as a sharp silver Google logo on the back. After getting your hands on it, you will notice that the material feels a little flimsy in the palm of your hand. But because it weighs only 102g, you won't even notice it in your bag, and because its dimensions are 56x108%;12x12.3mm, it's small and slim enough to slip into your pocket without being noticed. But even though its glossy back panel will quickly become covered in smudgy fingerprints and act as a dust magnet, the device's asymmetrically-curved back makes it comfortable to hold in one's hand.
As well as these features, you'll find the standard selection of Android buttons, such as those for menu and back navigation, back and search navigation, and even the dial and end keys. Additionally, there is a four-way navigation button on the side of the screen, which is surrounded by a Confirm button. The volume up and down buttons are located on the side of the handset, in an inconvenient location that requires you to adjust your normal phone-holding position in order to use them effectively. If you connect the phone to a computer or use the included power adaptor, the Micro-USB connector can be found just below the volume buttons and is used to charge the phone.
Although there are some drawbacks, such as the screen's small size 2.8 inches small lcd screen and low resolution 240 x 320 pixels, both of these are considered minor drawbacks for this particular device. In other words, while it is possible to watch a couple of short videos on your phone or tablet, the images are a little soft, making it difficult to watch anything that is too demanding, and you would certainly not be able to sit through an entire television show on your device. The touchscreen on this device is capacitive rather than resistive, which is surprising given the device's low price. This new touchscreen smartphone from Samsung has a pleasingly zippy and responsive TouchWiz user interface, and it is a welcome addition to the company's lineup of touchscreen smartphones. A lot like that, if you're already familiar with the Android user interface which is highly recommended, navigating through the menu screens will be simple and straightforward.
Europa comes with Write and Go, a universal text composer that is also included with the purchase price. Text composers allow you to start by typing your text and then choose the destination, which can be a text message, a calendar entry, or a status update, among others. Another feature of the handset is that it includes an FM radio with RDS, which is accessible through the use of the 3.5mm jack located on its top edge, which is also used to connect the supplied headphones.
