3. Synergizing Debuffs and Buffs
Now that we know about some of the debuffs and buffs available, let's talk about how to combine them effectively:
Curses + Elemental Exposure: For example, applying Flammability (curse) to lower fire resistance on enemies, combined with Fire Exposure (debuff), allows your fire-based attacks to deal significantly more damage. Combining these with buffs like Anger (Fire) or Elemental Focus (support gem) can lead to extremely high fire damage output.
Vulnerability + Damage Buffs: Applying Vulnerability to increase the damage enemies take, combined with a buff like Haste (for attack speed) or Frenzy Charges (for more crits), enables you to Path of exile currency take full advantage of your increased damage while attacking at faster speeds and landing more critical hits.
Curses + Ailments: You can combine Despair (curse) with Poison or Chaos Damage builds, significantly increasing the damage over time that your ailments deal. This is particularly effective for Chaos-based builds or Poison builds, where the added debuff makes enemies much more vulnerable to the damage over time.
Critical Buffs + Debuffs: Combining Power Charges and Critical Strike Buffs with Exposure or Vulnerability can create a high-risk, high-reward synergy. For example, if you apply Cold Exposure on a monster and use Wrath and Power Charges, your critical hits with cold damage can become extremely potent.
Armor Reduction + Attack Speed Buffs: When enemies' armor is reduced via skills like Vulnerability or Armor Breaker, your physical attacks will hit much harder. Combining this with cheap Path of exile currency Rampage (which increases damage per kill) and buffs that increase attack speed, such as Haste or Frenzy Charges, will allow you to shred through enemies faster.
