Cricut Access is a subscription plan that unlocks over 400
fonts and 100,000 images and cut-ready projects in Design Space. Cricut Access
also gets you a 10% discount on all product purchases (even sale items) on
Cricut's website, other exclusive discounts, cricut.com/setup and licensed
products from the likes of Disney, Marvel, and Hello Kitty. Cricut Access even
gets you Priority Member Care, with 50% less wait time. You can get all of the
details here, but overall, it's an extensive service for those who use Design
Space.
It's worth noting that you can't save your favorite Cricut
Access designs and use them after your subscription runs out.
Design Space is software you use on your desktop or mobile
device to create projects with your Cricut. Design Space is free to use, and
it's not optional: it's the only way to operate a Cricut machine. You do not
need Cricut Access in order to use it.
There are some limited free fonts, images, and ready-to-make
projects already in Design Space that you can use without a Cricut Access subscription
at all. You can upload free fonts and images from the internet and you can
create your own.
What exactly does a Cricut do?
The machine connects to your computer or smart phone via
bluetooth or with a cable if needed. You can then create your own designs or
download designs. Cricut has software called 'Design Space' where you can edit
and adapt designs before asking Cricut to cut them out.
You can upload your own designs too! Find out how to upload
images to Cricut Design Space in this handy video tutorial.
When your design is ready you simply press a button and the
Cricut has a small blade which moves around the material you are cutting following
the lines of the design you have created or downloaded.
The material is secured via a 'sticky' mat so it doesn't
move as the blade moves around allowing a perfectly clean cut.
Find out how to clean your cricut sticky mats so they last
longer and can be used again and again in this great tutorial from Emma Jewell.
There are many, many wonderful YouTubers who have created
great step by step videos for you to use! We asked Christy Cain a Cricut Expert
from the USA to tell us why she uses Cricut machines. Also take a look at her
great introductory video.

Is Cricut Access Worth It?
For a few months now, I’ve been sharing with you some
amazing Cricut crafts – some with free templates and some that use Cricut
Access designs. It’s now time to answer the question that’s likely burning in
many of your minds: is Cricut Access worth it? This post contains affiliate
links.
Since talking about my love for my Cricut machine, a few
friends and readers have purchased this handy dandy crafting machine. The most
common question that I receive isn’t about cutting card stock or which vinyl to
buy, but rather it’s, “Do I REALLY need Cricut Access?”
Cricut Access is a
monthly subscription plan that gives users a wider range of images from
which to choose when making a project. The subscription page boosts of
“unlimited access to over 75,000 images, many Make It Now™ projects, and 400
fonts, ” but is it really worth the $7.99 a month price?
Is Cricut Design Space Free?
Update March 2021: cricut.com
setup announced some major changes to Design Space that would affect all
non-Cricut Access users, essentially forcing many to become Cricut Access
members. Due to overwhelming feedback Cricut’s CEO announced on March 18, 2021
they retracted this change. “Right now, every member can upload an unlimited
number of images and patterns to Design Space for free, and we have no
intention to change this policy. ” Read on for the full details.
There’s a lot of confusion out there as to whether or not
Cricut Design Space is actually free. People buy a new Cricut machine like the
Cricut Maker (check out my Maker Review) or Cricut Explore Air 2, get a free
Cricut Access trial, and later find out they need to pay money to keep using
their designs. So how much does Cricut Design Space cost?
Cricut Design Space is the free software that is used to
connect to any Cricut digital die cutting machine. It allows users to upload an
unlimited number of designs and any type of file to the program for free. But
some images and fonts present in Design Space must be purchased.
Cricut Access is a subscription based image and font library
built into Design Space. New Cricut owners are given a free monthly trial with
the purchase of their machine.
There are some free images and fonts available in Design
Space. Many of the images and fonts available are included in Cricut Access but
there are still some that need to be purchased seperately.
