The best news is, you don’t need to choose from the default options at all. You can customize the power options according to your requirement every time you reset your PC.   

By default, every Windows PC sets the Power plan to “Balanced” one and two other plans, “Power saver” and “High performance,” are also available. We’ll discuss whether you should switch from default to another or not, or even do you need any custom plan or not?


How to switch power plans in Windows PC?

First of all, you have to check all the power plans available on your Windows device. To find these plans, follow these steps;

  • Open the control panel from the start menu.

  • Search Power Options and click to view.

  • You can see three options now – Balanced, Power Saver, High Performance.

 

Note:-

  • If you want to change the settings, click on the “Change Plan Settings” link of every 3 options’ top. It’ll allow you to select display turn-off time and sleep time.

  • You can click on Advanced Power Settings to make some other changes.

Which one should your select from three of the Power Options?

Working on a power mode is dependent on you. All three modes are well-identified under each option. Where Windows says;

  1. Balanced is recommended option that automatically balances energy consumption and increases or decreases CPU speed accordingly.  

  2. Power saver reduces 

  3. Possible performance of CPU to save energy.

  4. High performance has more energy use as it focuses on device performance, not on saving power.


Choosing a plan for your computer is your choice; however, if you don’t switch it, the Balanced option will stay at work. The balanced power plan is perfect and default for everyone. If you want to lower the brightness, you can do it manually instead of changing a complete power plant.


Do you need a customized power plan?

A power plan is a set of system settings and hardware settings to manage your computer’s power consumption. By default, three plans are available, but you can do more than these plans. You can create a Customize power plan if you want to take control. With the specific settings, your computer will be optimized accordingly. Customization could be a better and modified way to enhance the power saving for Windows; however, if you need one or not, it’s completely your choice.


How do you create a power plan in Windows 10?

To create a new customize power plan in your Windows 10 PC, you can go through the below-mentioned process;

  1. First of all, go to the start menu or press the Windows button.

  1. Secondly, click on the setting icon from the left side.

  1. At the bottom, enter a name for the new plan and click Next.

  1. Customize the time according to your choice and click Create.

  1. Your power plan starts running.

Note: - If you don’t want to go longer using this process, you can simply search “Choose a power plan” in the start menu and open the application displaying results. Then follow step 6 and further to create the new customize plan.

Customizing a Power Plan

If you want to customize the recently created power plan, open the “Choose a power plan” from the Windows menu and click “Change plan settings” on your custom power plan. Thereafter, click on the “Change advanced power settings” link and change settings like Hard Disk, Internet Explorer, to reflect on your PC. Then click “Apply” and OK to finish the customization.


How to delete a custom power plan

If your mind changes somehow, and now you wish to delete the custom power plan, you can easily do it. Let’s see how;

  1. In the windows start menu, search for Choose a power plan.

  1. Open Power plan (control panel), and you’ll see all power plans.

  2. Now, select another power plan other than the one you want to delete. The currently running power plan won’t show you the delete option; hence, you must tick on another plan.

  • Is the printer turned on?

  2. Tap on the home icon.

  3. Tap OK if any error appears.

  4. Now, tap on the WiFi single-crossed icon on the left side.

  5. Tap LAN settings > Wireless LAN.

  6. Select Wireless LAN setup and ensure the LAN connection is Active.

  7. Now, you’ve to set up the network connection. Hence, select the Easy wireless method or WPS method (WPS button or PIN code).

  8. Follow instructions to complete the network setup.  


  • Complete the Printer Setup

The WiFi Red Cross icon indicates no connection between the router network and the Canon printer. First, complete the printer setup;

  1. Insert the Canon setup cd and run the installer.

  2. Or visit canon.com/ijsetup site.

  3. Here, click set up and download the latest TS9100’s Canon model software.

  4. Double-click on downloaded setup and follow instructions to run the file.

  5. Select Wireless LAN in the connection method and ensure your network status is active.


  • Diagnose and repair the network status 

If setting up a printer doesn’t resolve the wireless LAN issue on the computer, then you can take help through Diagnose and repair that’s WiFi Connection Assistant or IJ Network Device Setup Utility. The WiFi Connection Assistant also searches printers on the network with a basic network setup.

How to repair Wireless LAN using WiFi Connection Assistant?   
  1. Download the WiFi Connection Assistant tool from the Canon support site.

  2. Press the Windows button and open all apps. Then, click on Canon Utilities and open WiFi Connection Assistant.

  3. Then click Diagnose & Repair in shown option.

  4. Computer network settings diagnosing will appear.

  5. When Select Printer to Be Repaired displays, click on TS9100 serial number. Move YES and next also press the connect button for 3 seconds.

  6. Right now, the wireless router is disconnected. Hence wait a while to connect to the printer, and the PC will automatically attempt the communication.        

  7. The WiFi Connection Assistant confirms the communication functionality, then click exit.

  • Check printer and wireless router network settings 

The Canon printer TS9100 network setting, including router name, network key, and SSID, should be the same as the wireless router. Read the wireless router manual and check or change the settings. Print the current network settings;

  1. Ensure you have already loaded paper in the output paper tray.

  2. Tap on Network status (WiFi icon) located in the left bottom corner.

  3. Tap Yes and select Print details > Yes.

  4. Now, you can check the details to confirm network settings.


  • Poor Signal Strength?

The network setting you print above shows you signal strength details. If the strength is poor, take the router close to the printer.

  • Enable Bidirectional Support    

Bidirectional support for a Canon printer print line from left-to-right and share information in real-time connecting to printer and network. Open the Printers and Scanners and open your Canon printer properties with right-click tap to enable the bidirectional support. Open Ports > tick on Enable bidirectional support > OK.


  • Turn off the Security Software Firewall

The turn-on firewall of security software sends warning messages for Canon printer software. You’ve set the software on always allow access. Some programs use a firewall by default; hence turn it off manually by opening Firewall options.
