Since nested virtualization is
either not supported or is a very difficult procedure, neither the Eve-NG
implementations nor Azure actually worked.
Why was Eve-NG deployed in the
cloud?
It takes a lot of RAM and CPU
power to virtualize the kind of routers that can operate these cutting-edge DC
technologies. Additionally, there is no need for these routers to consume
energy constantly.
To access the console, first,
create a free Google Compute Engine account.
You should see something somewhat
similar after activating it. From an Ubuntu base image, we must develop a
custom image that supports virtualization, from which we may build the system
and install eve-ng
on google cloud as needed.
You should see a custom graphic
with the status = "READY" once the command has finished running. You
are now prepared to construct a Google Compute VM instance after the process is
finished.
As needed, create the instance.
Give it as much RAM and CPU as
you'd like, then click "Change" under Boot Disk to finish.
In order to accommodate all the
photographs to send to Eve-NG for virtualization, chose a bigger HD. Now
specify the custom image you made with vmx enabled.
So that you can use eve ng server
web panel, and permit HTTP traffic. Get a static public IP so you can start and
stop your instance while maintaining the same static public IP.
Continue by following the
remaining instructions to grant root access to your system over SSH from any
location in the world. Decide on a root password. Allow Root Login. Decide to
yes for Password Authentication. Save, then exit. Relaunch the sshd service. Continue
with the remaining instructions to finish installing Eve-NG on top of Ubuntu. Revisit
the grub. Change the interface's name to eth0 on boot by editing the following
file. If you restart the computer, eth0 should be present. Update and improve. Reboot
after executing the install command.
You have a variety of choices for
setting up your own Cisco SD-WAN lab. Your best option right now is EVE-NG. Every
step of setting up EVE-NG is easy and creating your own Cisco SD-WAN lab is
very quick. This comprises:
downloading the necessary eve
ng online lab and Cisco images
putting in EVE-NG
putting in the photos on your
EVE-NG setup
checking your ability to use the
images
EVE-NG can be run on real
hardware, a KVM or VMWare hypervisor, or both. The EVE-NG requirements page has
more information on cisco
ise eve ng. It will be set up on VMware ESXi 7, of course. The
Cisco SD-WAN and EVE-NG images must be downloaded in order to get started.
Cisco account setup
You need to have a CCO account
with a contract in order to download the Cisco SD-WAN images. The photos are
accessible through Cisco's Software Download. Cisco SD-WAN can be used with a
variety of operating systems, including Microsoft Azure, VMware ESXi, and KVM.
For EVE-NG, we need the KVM images.
From the download page, you can
get EVE-NG. There are two possibilities
Community Edition Version
Professional/Learning Center Version. The professional version's ISO download is
best for the following two reasons:
The most recent version.
You can add and remove links
without logging off of virtual devices.
The professional version costs
money but is unquestionably worthwhile. Transfer the ISO file to your VMware
ESXi server's datastore. We must first build some additional port groups before
we can create the virtual computer.
The EVE-NG virtual machine's eth0
interface is connected to the first port group (LAB). We use this so that we
may connect to the SSH server or the EVE-NG GUI. The other three port groups
are connected to various EVE-NG "cloud" networks. These can be used
as a bridge between our real network and virtual devices. Every port group
makes use of a distinct VLAN. These cloud icons are helpful for SD-WAN because
we'll be simulating various WAN connections using them.
Presented as a virtual appliance,
FortiGate-VM is a fully functional FortiGate. For top virtualization, cloud,
and SDN platforms like VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Xen, KVM, and AWS, the fortigate
vm download virtual appliance is the best option for keeping an
eye on and enforcing virtual traffic. To offer flexible and quick network
security services to virtual workloads, FortiGate-VM may be orchestrated in
software-defined environments. You may evaluate the user-friendly web interface
and contextual displays, and know how to deploy firewall, intrusion prevention,
VPN, antivirus, and other unified security services to virtual workloads.
The deployment package for
FortiGate-VM can be downloaded. The Customer Service & Support website
offers FortiGate-VM deployment packages. To access the VM deployment packages
that are offered, choose VM Images from the Download drop-down option.
Choose FortiGate from the
drop-down menu labeled "Select Product."
Pick VMware ESXi from the
drop-down menu labeled Select Platform.
Choose the FortiOS release that
you want to download.
Both the file needed for a new
deployment and the file needed to upgrade from an earlier version of eve
ng ise are available for download.
Save the file by selecting the
Download button.
After selecting the ASAv Symbol,
click OK.
The console type can be changed
to vnc by selecting it from the drop-down menu.
for the console type, select
"VNC"
Uncheck the box for a linked base
VM.
For the base VM that goes with
ASAv, uncheck the box.
This option allows newer
instances to inherit the global settings, hence it is advisable that all
necessary adjustments be performed before choosing it. We shall carry out each
assignment as the final stage once we have finished it. In comparison to other
integrated programming environments like PyCharm, Sublime Text, or Sublime Text
2, you may prefer Microsoft Studio Code if you're used to utilizing Microsoft
products.
