De otra manera, si el mercado se está moviendo demasiado rápido en su contra, seguirá dejando la posición hasta que esté completamente plano. La mayoría del tiempo, una orden de stop es llamada “stop loss”, lo que significa que protege su cuenta si la posición va en su contra.
En el ejemplo de arriba, con el banco nacional suizo dejando el mercado de divisas, usted hubiese sufrido pérdidas. Sin embargo, el mercado calló como 500 pips en sólo algunos momentos, y muchos de aquellos que no estaban protegidos terminaron perdiendo cientos de miles de dólares. Este es el significado de cuando el bróker le dice que “puede perder más de su inversión inicial”. Lo último que necesita hacer es engancharse a su bróker por una cantidad drástica de dinero. Esto puede ser fácilmente evitado tomando esta precaución. Más allá de ello, ayuda a establecer una disciplina que de modo que cuando las cosas se ponen difíciles usted sabrá que el trade no obró en su favor. Es una parte crucial de la administración del dinero, y algo que usualmente es ignorado debido a uno de los enemigos más peligrosos del trading: el ego del trader.
　　Órdenes de límite
　　Las órdenes de límite son una especie diferente. Una orden de límite es una orden que es establecida a un precio particular. Sólo se puede ejecutar en momentos en los que el trade puede ser ejecutado a ese precio específico. Por ejempo, si pone una orden de límite de comprar una divisa a 1.1753, sólo comprará esa divisa a ese precio exacto, o a un precio menor si tiene la oportunidad de hacer eso. Eso asegura que no pagará más de su precio deseado. Esta es una forma de entrar al mercado con precisión, mientras que al mismo tiempo sirve como una gran forma de ahorrar dinero en el trade. Esta es una situación que continua evolucionando hacia trades más complejos, como una orden de stop-límite.
　　En este escenario, está mirando la misma cosa como una orden de límite, en el sentido en el que usted querría comprar la divisa a 1.1290, pero también puso el precio límite en 1.1300. Si el precio de la divisa se mueve por encima de 1.1290, la orden de stop se activa y se convierte en una orden de límite. Mientras que esta orden pueda ser satisfecha por debajo del nivel de 1.1300 , el trade será satisfecho. En otras palabras, esto lo protege de brechas y malos deslices. No todas las casas corredoras de Forex ofrecen estos tipos de órdenes, pero es algo que tal vez le gustaría considerar cuando elija un nuevo bróker.
