But to be successful in this, it takes a lot of dedication. You must follow the Auction House daily and watch which items sell and which not. It certainly takes a lot of time and thinking, but if it sounds fun to you, then go for it.
You have the option to either go for the gathering two and spend all your time farming in the real world, then sell the mats on the Auction House. Then, you can combine one gathering and one crafting profession and sell fully crafted items. Or, if you already have some gold, you can ditch out the gathering ones and take up to crafting professions. This way, you can buy the raw materials for less gold, then turn them into full stacks and resell them for more gold.
Typically, Inscription and Alchemy will always be good because people need Tomes and Flasks all the time, either for raids or mythic dungeons. But Tailoring, Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, and Jewelcrafting can all shine up at the end of a patch where new recipes and substantial craftable items are introduced. So you want to choose interesting professions for you and stick with them.
Be a Tank!
Being a tank is the best way to earn a lot of gold. Tanks currently control the grouping landscape in Warcraft. Earning extra rewards by participating in random instances where tanks are needed is a great way to earn unexpected, and sometimes random, amounts of gold. Also, reward bags can contain gold and other items. One of the items that always sells well is the companions. At one point, I was given the Firefly pet from my bag, which sells for thousands of gold for the server I am on.
The other advantage is that players will actually pay tanks to queue in a group with them just so they can get in instances much faster. You can also use this to charge people to tank in their raid, which could net thousands of gold. Lastly, you can even have your guild charge players to run them through the harder raids. It could still net your guild gear while you get a good amount of gold.
Hunt for Rare Mobs
Rares are plentiful in the game now. Not only can they drop gear, but they can also drop bags that have various resources for you to sell at the Auction House. Rare hunting is a challenge but is a lot of fun to do. For example, Pandaria has many rares, including rares that must be defeated using multiple players. Even though it's old content, it still can prove to be profitable. Many more benefits await if you pursue the full opportunities that rare spawns provide.
You can also do some of the older dungeons and raids to pick up rare items to sell on the auction house. With transmogrification, older gear can usually sell for a lot of gold. Plus there are pets, mounts, and other goodies to be had in the older dungeons and raids. Just make sure to read up on them to ensure you can solo them. Some of them are still hard, even for the most advanced players.
Fishing
Fishing is often a very neglected skill, as many players are annoyed by the constant "staring at the blinker". But it's worth the while: Once you have reached higher fishing levels, you sell rare fish for a decent fee in the auction house.

From this, they make basic materials. Chefs love to fish and shellfish of all kinds to make buff food. If you want to learn to cook yourself, fish is the cheapest resource - they only cost you time and patience.
On the side, you can fish very well. Here we fish in the wreckage, of which there are resources that you can not collect yourself, some bales of material or herbs.
Farm dungeonsIt’s harder to farm for rare items in World of Warcraft Classic because many of them are 'world drops,' available anywhere in the game world inhabited by monsters of a certain type or level. But there are plenty of materials specifically used by crafters that are useful to farm and repeatedly sell which spawn in dungeons, where you have no competition.
The key to farming dungeons for materials is being able to either kill the monsters yourself or not be seen by them. This is why most farming of this type is done by Rogues or Druids, because they can stealth their way through. Then there are Hunters and other strong solo classes who can kill everything that can drop something useful.
Gathering Professions
One thing that hasn't changed since the early days of WoW is the value of gathering professions. Herbs, skinning, and mining materials always tend to hold a high value at in the Auction House, thanks to some players trying to power-level the coordinating crafting professions. This strategy will be a little risky early the game, when there aren't many wealthy players yet, but definitely pays off in the long run. Doubling up on gathering professions and offloading everything in the Auction House is a very viable path to wealth, with the only major downside being that you are left without a crafting profession of your own. This definitely isn't a dealbreaker, but obviously limit some of what your character can do.

A look at the new tailoring recipes
In 8.3 the only tradeable recipes that tailors got are for the new Uncanny Combatant gear. Tailors get access to the 5 non-azerite armor slots as well as being the only ones that can craft cloaks. The items are item level 400 and they have one of several possible random enchantments with secondary stats.
The recipes have 3 ranks with decreasing material costs, with the most important one being the decrease in expulsom cost as this is by far the most time consuming part of the process.
Similar pieces have done extremely well for me in earlier patches and I have already seen players getting some really large sales, so let’s take a look at them.
Getting the recipes
The rank 1 version of the recipes are all obtained from your profession trainer right in your factions capital city. You need skill level 170, which is fairly reasonable to get. The higher rank recipes are sold by the new profession liason found by the PvP vendors. As with the previous patches the rank 2 recipes will cost you 2 marks of honor and the rank 3 recipes will cost you 4 marks of honor.
This time around the higher rank recipes are significantly more attractive compared to the last patch as the expulsom costs have been increased across the board. For everything except bracers the expulsom cost has been increased by two, which is huge. This is somewhere around 40-50 seconds extra crafting time per piece in terms of expulsom crafting.
Stocking the items
I prefer stocking up to at least 5 of each base item. You get a nice spread of various suffixes. If you have the capital going up to 10 of each base item is quite good. If you have full rank 3s compared to rank 1 you will save 45 minutes of crafting when crafting 10 of each. Never has the rank 3 grind been more attractive in terms of time investment than this time around. Of course you can do some AFK crafting, particularly when crafting all the tidespray bracers, but getting the higher ranks will save a lot of time.
The recipes require deep sea satin and gilded seaweave in addition to the expulsom, so be prepared do dump a lot of WOW Classic Gold into these items. You will also of course need a huge amount of tidespray linen for the bracer shuffle.
Expulsom
To get the expulsom needed you will have to do your own scrapping. By crafting the Tidespray Linen bracers en masse and scrapping them you will get one expulsom per 6 bracers on average. You get the recipe at level 1 Zandalari crafting so you can use a level 110 character to craft the tailoring bracers if you do not have tailoring. Expulsom is time consuming to craft, but at least you have everything you need on your tailor. You can just craft tidespray linen bracers and scrap them immediately. You will need a LOT of expulsom.
Valuing your expulsom
If you have not set a value for your expulsom in TSM you will have to do so for my TSM settings to work as they heavily rely on the crafting source. To do so you head to the crafting reports window by typing /tsm crafting.Go to materials and search for expulsom. I use a custom price called expulsom, but you can just paste the string below straight in. It will use the lowest crafting cost of the tailoring bracers or either of the leatherworking bracers to calculate the cost of one expulsom.
TSM Setup
As usual I rely on the same auctioning operation I have utilized throughout the entire expansion to post crafted gear. It will be invalid if you haven’t set a proper price for expulsom, so make sure you get one in.Due to the random proc nature of the items my group will be missing some of the variants and you will have to add them manually.
