One of the reasons chose the over multiple suitors in Joshua Kelley Jersey free agency was the opportunity to pair up with . Bradberry and Slay form one of the top cornerback duos in the -- and arguably the Eagles' best cornerback duo since Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown in the mid-2000s.Bradberry isn't one to buy into the hype, but it's hard to contain the excitement of actually playing with Slay."I see an elite corner. I watched him since I got into the league. I always admired his game," Bradberry told on CBS Brenden Jaimes Jersey Sports Network. "Just having the opportunity to learn from him and actually complement him, I'm excited for it. I think we're going to complement each other pretty well." by on Bradberry and Slay are the only cornerbacks with 80 pa ses defended since Bradberry's rookie Tristan Vizcaino Jersey season (2016), as both are first and second in the league (Slay has the most with 84). Slay is coming off one of his best seasons, finishing with 52 tackles, three interceptions, nine pa ses defensed, and Kyzir White Jersey two fumble recoveries for touchdowns (which led the league). Opposing quarterbacks targeting Slay as the primary defender had just a 59.5 pa ser rating against him last year. Slay understands why the Eagles brought Bradberry into the fold because there were similar reasons surrounding Philadelphia acquiring him via trade two years ago. The Eagles are trying to recreate the dynamic of Joey Bosa Jersey Bobby Taylor and Troy Vincent, along with Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown, with Slay and Bradberry."From the outside looking in, there's always been a corner i sue here," Slay said, . "There aren't too many teams that had two top-tier corners that played together in the Philly area. We're trying to make sure we fill them shoes. "The sky's the limit Justin Herbert Jersey for me and Bradberry. I'm gonna help him, he gonna help me. We complement each other and we're really trying to turn this into something great here."
SEATTLE -- Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback was arrested on suspicion of driving Lance Alworth Jersey under the influence Monday following the team's season-ending victory in Arizona.According to King County Court records, Smith was arrested at Will Clapp Jersey 2:10 a.m. and was released from custody around 9:30 a.m. Smith was arrested by the Washington State Patrol, but no other information was immediately available."Geno is fully cooperative with the investigation. I hope that an open mind can be kept by all as the facts are ascertained," Smith' Keenan Allen T Shirts s attorney Jon Fox said in a statement.Smith has just completed his Ty Long Jersey third season with the Seahawks and had the most extensive playing time of his tenure in Seattle. He appeared in four games and started three while was out due to finger surgery. Smith threw for Zion Johnson Jersey 702 yards and five touchdowns with one interception.Smith had appeared in just one game during his first two seasons with Seattle. He was on a one Trey Marshall Jersey -year contract with Seattle and will be a free agent after the end of the current NFL season.
Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett stashed away so many key players during the preseason that tallying them up Corey Linsley Jersey required a calculator. Having multiple players patrolling the sidelines was designed for the sole purpose of keeping them fit and available for Week 1's action in Seattle, so to that end, the overall strategy worked out nicely.Denver's second-year cornerback Patrick Surtain II was one of the star players Hackett would absolutely not risk in the pursuit of meaningle s dividends. One collateral benefit to watching from the sideline was that it gave the former Alabama stand-out plenty time to focus on studying his opponents well ahead of the live bullets that'll be flying in his direction on September 12.On Wednesday, Surtain admitted that it Dustin Hopkins Jersey was a little difficult sitting out during the preseason games, but he threw himself into helping the rookies make the team. That kind of veteran leadership doesn't ordinarily fall on such young shoulders. It was tough because mentallyjust the anticipation of thinking youre going to be out there, but of course, youre watching from the sidelines, Surtain said. But its also a great thing to sit back, visualize and help younger guys in making the team. Just Joshua Kelley Jersey going out there and helping those guys play at a high level, that was the biggest thing.Hacketts only real gamble was trusting that his players will not be lacking in intensity when the rubber meets the road in Seattle after hanging out for nearly a month watching other people play football. For Surtain, it's particularly challenging, because he has Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf to lock horns with come .To that end, Surtain revealed how he's got an inside man close at hand in Ru sell Wilson fresh off Zion Johnson Jersey receiving if he wants the inside scoop on Seattle's dangerous pa s-catching duo.Scroll to ContinueIts definitely a benefit, especially him playing with those two guys, Surtain explained. I can pick his brain, gain a few tips from him and some insight from him, but also it just comes down to film study and preparation, at the same time, and getting yourself mentally and physically prepared for that week.Surtain is becoming well known throughout the league, not only for his natural abilities, but also for his dedication to studying the book on his opponents. It's a distinct po sibility that the Seahawks will trust their star pairing Keenan Allen Jersey to go toe-to-toe with the Broncos' 22-year-old cover corner.Moving forward, should Surtain continue his rapid rise to prominence, teams might opt to start avoiding his side of the field. If that should happen over time, he acknowledges that losing the chance to pad his stats would hurt him slightly, but he'd take it as a backhanded compliment. Its both. Its a compliment, but also, its like, Dang, my stat sheet isnt going to be up there. Its also a compliment if another teams quarterback doesnt look your way, Surtain conceded. Obviously, youre doing something good. On the stat sheet, its not going to come Gabe Nabers Jersey out the way you want it to come out, but at the end of the day, you know you did something well.

The 2021 quarterback cla s has a chance to be a very special group. Already, Los Angeles Chargers Hats this collection of young signal-callers has been a part of something that we've never seen before. For the first time in NFL Draft history, eight quarterbacks have come off the board within the first three rounds, according to . Five of those players heard their names called on Thursday night in the first round and three others started to find homes acro s the league in the midst of Day 2.In fact, there was a 48 pick gap between when the selected Mac Jones out of Alabama at No. 15 overall and the tapped Florida's Kyle Trask with the last pick in the second round. Following the Trask pick, with the adding Kellen Mond out of Texas A&M and the using their first pick of the 2021 draft on Davis Kyzir White Jersey Mills out of Stanford, getting us to the new record.Of course, this cla s will likely be remembered for what had gone on Thursday night. First and foremost, Trevor Lawrence was picked No. 1 by the and will serve as the unquestioned Week 1 starter, as will likely be the case Khalil Mack Jersey with Zach Wilson, who was taken No. 2 by the . While both Lawrence and Wilson will hit the ground running with their respective teams, the rest of their record-breaking cla smates do have a different road in front of them. Trey Lance ( ), Justin Fields ( ) and Mac Jones (Patriots) could all see the field in 2021, but each has a veteran quarterback on the roster that will likely begin the year as the starter while they continue to develop as the year progre ses. As for the likes of Trask, Mond, and MIlls, they are deemed more as developmental pieces that could blo som into a starter after a couple of seasons Derwin James Jr. Jersey of grooming. While it's unclear when these draftees get their chance, this group does have the potential to go down as one of the better quarterback cla ses of all time, which is really the type of NFL Draft history they'd like to make.
There's nothing like the feeling of sheer confidence after completing a fantasy football draft and thinking to yourself, " ." Yes, every fantasy owner says that, but inevitably, some of the players each team selects end up turning into disappointments -- or even worse, complete busts. With the 2020 fantasy season now wrapped up (unle s you play a Week 17 championship game), it's time to look back on some of the biggest busts at every position. The construction of this year's All-Bust Team was simple. Obviously, there's a laundry list of guys acro s the NFL who have dealt with injuries and have mi sed extensive action, including early picks like Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, and Courtland Sutton. With that said, we didn't want to bog down this list with players that suffered season-ending injuries, so we focused more on picking players that were in action for at least a good chunk of the year but just didn't deliver for whatever reason. Sure, some of them also dealt with injuries, but the biggest busts are the big-name guys you play every week or at least keep on your John Hadl Jersey roster all year but constantly provide little-to-no production. In addition to the picks for the all-bust team, we'll revisitour preseason below each selection. As usual, we had some hits but also had some egregious whiffs.Without further ado, we present to you the biggest fantasy football busts of the 2020 NFL season. QB:Carson Wentz, Eagles Coming off a solid effort in '19, Wentz was the 11th QB off the board in fantasy drafts on average, goingahead of the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Ryan Tannehill. Despite being viewed universally as a potentially QB1 with a high floor, Wentz crashed and burned this season and finished the fantasy season ranked 21st among QBs in total fantasy points. In terms of average points per game, Wentz was Joey Bosa Jersey ranked 18th.Wentz had seven games with multiple pa sing TDs this year, but he also hadsix with multiple interceptions. Though he has been benched since a Week 13 lo s to the Packers, he still leads the NFL in interceptions (15) and sacks taken (50). His consistent negative plays constantly put fantasy owners behind in games, and that's part of the reason that many moved on from him as the season went along. Most of Wentz's fantasy owners are kicking themselves for not drafting Rodgers instead of him, and next year, they won't make the same mistake. Of course, it's po sible no one drafts Wentz next year, asJalen Hurts is looking like a potential long-term answer for the Eaglesand Wentz's contract is extremely difficult to trade in a non-salary-dump move. As a result, he could end up being a backup next year unle s he rapidly returns to his borderline-MVP performance from 2017. : Dak Prescott, CowboysPrescott was on pace to throw for nearly 6,000 yards before a compound ankle fracture prematurely ended his season. Obviously, he didn't pan out for fantasy owners in wake of that injury, but given that he was on pace to be a top-10 fantasy quarterback before he went down, it's hard to label him a definitive "bust" this year.RB: Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers Fournette ended up being the 20th RB off the board in fantasy drafts this year, but his season got off to a strange start. He was among the final cuts for the Jaguarsand ended up in an uncertain role with the Buccaneers. After running for 103 yards and Lance Alworth Jersey two TDs on just 12 carries against the Panthers in Week 2, it looked like Fournette was going to be the starter over Ronald Jones. However, Jones staved off competition from Fournette and forced him into the role of being a spot-starter. All told, Fournette had a couple of two-TD games but never went over 100 total yards after Week 2.Fournette finished the year as a top handcuff and an occasional matchup-based flex play, but for the most part, he disappointed in his finish as the 39th-ranked RB in fantasy football.RB: Le'Veon Bell, Jets/Chiefs Hopes were high for Khalil Mack Jersey Bell in his second season with the Jets. He was set to play behind a better offensive line and wasn't coming off a year-long layoff as he was before the 2019 season.Instead of getting a rejuvenated Bell, the Jets got nothing but trouble. Bell got hurt in his first game, clashed with Adam Gase, and ultimately was released. He was scooped up by the Chiefs, but Kansas City opted to use him as more of a backup to spell rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire than anything else. With the Chiefs, Bell had more than 10 touches just twice, and on the season, he averaged nine touchesfor 42.3 yards per game and scored just three times.Bell was the 21st RB off the board, on average, and a top-50 pickin most fantasy drafts, so seeing him finish the year as the 57th-ranked RB overall was a ma sive disappointment. Most weeks, he just wasted away on the benches of owners too afraid to drop him in the hopes that the Chiefs may go with a full split between him and Edwards-Helaire.RB: Mark Ingram, Ravens Speaking of high draft picks that didn't pan out, how about Ingram? He was drafted 23rd among RBs, indicating that he should be a low-end RB2. Instead, he completely cratered and lost Will Clapp Jersey value long before the season ended.Early in the year, the Ravens were using a frustrating rotation at RB featuring Ingram, Gus Edwards, and JK Dobbins. As the year went on, Ingram battled injuries and got fewer and fewer touches with Dobbins and Edwards taking on a majority of the work. In recent weeks, Ingram has been a healthy scratch, so it appears that his time as a productive fantasy RB may be over.Entering Week 17, Ingram ranks 70th among RBs in fantasy scoring this year. That is behind both Dobbins and Edwards and the likes of Salvon Ahmed, Joshua Kelley, Peyton Barber, Brian Hill, and Samaje Perine, among others. To say this year was a disappointment for Ingram would be an understatement. Miles Sanders, Eagles | Aaron Jones, PackersJones was a complete whiff, as he followed up his breakout 2019 campaign with a strong '20 campaign that saw him score 10 times during the fantasy season and total nearly 1,400 scrimmage yards. He did mi s a couple of games, but it wasn't a big deal. Sanders, on the other hand, Los Angeles Chargers T Shirts had a rough go of it. He dealt with nagging injuries and scored in just four games(six total TDs), and his performance was very inconsistent playing behind a depleted Eagles offensive line. He wasn't terrible, but he was more of a boom-or-bust flex than the fringe-RB1 that he was drafted to be.WR: A.J. Green, Bengals Though the Bengals had added Tee Higgins to the fold, it was anticipated that Green, if healthy, would be the top outside receiver for the Bengals and would have a shot at emerging as a solid WR2/WR3 in fantasy.Instead, Green has endured a disappointing campaign despite staying healthy. On four occasions, he has finished a game without making a catch. He has scored just twice and is
Welcome to the second installment of the Chargers mailbag on . I'll be doing mailbags periodically throughout the season, answering questions from fans about the team. You can enter submi sions to be included in the mailbag by tweeting at me .Question No. 1 from : What's the atmosphere in the Chargers HQ? Do they feel content with their performance despite the record?Since the Chargers are now on their bye week, I havent David Wells Jersey been inside the team headquarters following their 37-23 lo s to the Seahawks. But from taking pulse of the locker room leading into their first seven games, I havent seen or felt the vibe of anything that is worrisome.I wouldnt say they're content. The coaches and players know there's several factors that need to be cleaned up for the team to take a jump forward and they've acknowledged them.I think it's a team that still remains fully bought into Brandon Staley's vision and they've taken accountability when things have gone wrong.Players like Derwin James, Austin Ekeler and Drue Tranquill to name a few, are leaders who have routinely answered for the team when things havent gone smoothly, facing the tough questions."No one is pointing fingers. We still believe in everything,"James said in the locker room following Sunday's Week 7 lo s. "Everything we want is still in front of us. If the playoffs started today, we'd be in the playoffs. So we just got to keep getting better every week and improving. Arizona Cardinals Home Office "Question No. 2 from :Do you see the Chargers moving away from the current coaching department?I understand the team hasn't clicked to the extent of their expectations entering the season. But they still sit with a 4-3 record and have a shot to make the playoffs. If you're asking about an in-season shift to the coaching staff, I dont envision that happening. The way I see it, Brandon Staley, at the very least, is getting this full season to put his touch on the team and see how far he can take them.On Monday, when asked about offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, Staley acknowledged it's been a much different go around for him and the offense than last season. However, Staley still voiced his confidence in Lombardi calling the offense, remaining committed to him. Now, if the Chargers fail to get into the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season, I would imagine a change to the coaching staff is made. There's no disputing that injuries have held this team back. But they also spent more money in an offseason than they ever before under general manager Tom Telesco, lifting the expectations to greater heights.Question No. Deandre Hopkins T Shirts 3 from : Potential trade targets and positions of need? The most glaring position of need is wide receiver. The injuries have hit their top four receivers in some shape or form.Telesco hasn't made a trade ahead of the deadline in his 10 years as general manager of the Chargers. But with everything they've poured into this team entering the year, I think anything is on the table.Ideally, they go after a wide receiver that can challenge defenses in the deep part of the field by getting vertical in a hurry. The Chargers havent had anyone who can regularly do that since Jalen Guyton went down with a torn ACL in Week 3.I think Elijah Moore of the Jets makes the most sense. He's requested a trade out of New York after being underutilized, and his skill set fits what the Chargers need to open up the pa sing attack. Moore was clocked at 4.32 seconds in the 40-yard dash at his Ole Mi s Pro Day.Scroll to ContinueOther plays rumored to po sibly be on the move are Brandin Cooks of the Texans, Chase Claypool Patrick Peterson T Shirts of the Steelers and Kadarius Toney of the Giants.I think these three players are worth considering, but feel le s likely. Cooks is quite expensive, carrying a $26.6 million cap hit in 2023. Claypool has regre sed each year since his rookie season and provides similar things to some of the receivers already on the Chargers roster. And for Toney, he's been injured quite regularly since entering the NFL.Question No. 4 from :I feel that there is just no zip to Justin Herbert's pa ses on the majority of plays. I love the guy but how hurt is he? I expect him to be our QB of the next 10-20 years. Will playing him hurt this year have any long-term effects?Over the last two weeks, I've came away with a similar impre sion. It looks as if Herbert's pa ses aren't as firm and his accuracy seems a bit off. I don't think it's an accurate representation of who he truly is. He hasn't forgotten how to throw. My take on this is he's still playing hurt, gutting it out while dealing with a fracture to his rib cartilage that occurred in Week 2.Has the injury improved? Herbert says it has. But I also think he's playing through more pain than he's willing to reveal. He's as tough as they come, but clearly it's impacted his throwing. You figure, anytime you twist, raise your arms or maneuver your body in a jerking motion, you're putting some level of strain on your midsection. Now consider that with a serious injury to your ribs like Herbert is going through. As for the fear of long-term effects, that would be better suited for a doctor to answer. What I do know is that Herbert has continued to say that if he didnt feel it was safe for him to be out there, he wouldnt be playing. He's still receiving Brian Winters Jersey treatment each week for his rib cartilage, but remains confident in his decision to remain out there.Question No. 5 from :Do you think Brandon Staley and his staff can turn this season around and get the offense into a rhythm?Do I think the Chargers are still a contender for the Super Bowl like I thought entering the season? Not so much. Do I think they can make improvements and reach the playoffs? It's certainly po sible. The offense clearly hasn't been as efficient as they were a season ago. But there's many factors that go into it. Herbert's fractured rib cartilage, moving parts to the offensive line and several injuries to the team's skill players have understandably played a part in the offense taking a step back. One thing you do have to give Staley credit for is making a change if the scenario calls for it. When Rashawn Slater suffered an injury to his biceps and Storm Norton took over for the remainder of the game, and it didnt go to well, he pivoted to Jamaree Salyer.Staley did the same thing in Week 6 on defense when J.C. Jackson was having a tough go, turning to Michael Davis for the second half and overtime to finish out the game. He's not afraid to change it up if something isnt Dennis Gardeck Jersey working and I think that's important. As I've talked about many times in this mailbag, injuries have played a major part.I think the biggest component to kickstarting the offense, as Staley and Lomabrdi have spoken about nearly each week, is getting the run game going. If they can run the ball, it opens up the pa sing attack. The Chargers really havent ran the ball well all sea
The ' late-season collapse in 2021 J J Watt T Shirts may ultimately be looked at as a turning point for the franchise. After lo ses to Las Vegas and Jacksonville eliminated them from playoff contention, the Colts have spent the 2022 offseason adding significant pieces to their roster with the hope of avoiding another letdown. On Friday, Indianapolis made headlines on an otherwise sleepy offseason day of cornerback . A former Pro Bowler for the , and , the 31-year-old Gilmore won Defensive Player of the Year in 2019 after leading the league with six picks and 20 pa ses defensed. A Pro Bowler each of the last four years, Gilmore earned consecutive All-Pro nods in New England Malcolm Butler Jersey while helping the Patriots hold the to just three points in LIII. He continued to play at a Pro Bowl level after returning from a quad injury that sidelined him for the first Arizona Cardinals T Shirts half of the 2021 season, his only season in Carolina.Gilmore's addition to the Colts' roster is significant. According to CBS Spots data scientist Stephen Oh, the Colts' odds at winning the AFC South division rose from 59.4% to 65.5% with Gilmore's acquisition. Indianapolis' playoff odds rose from 74.9% to 80.6%, while their odds at capturing the AFC climbed from 8.7% to 10.9%. The Colts' chances at hoisting the Lombardi Trophy rose from 4% to 5.2%. IND CB #5 Rodney Hudson Jersey Along with Gilmore, the Colts' offseason has included the signings of fellow defensive backs , , , and linebacker . Indianapolis also traded for former league MVP and defensive end . They also re-signed tight end , linebacker , defensive end , and offensive tackle .Indianapolis has revamped its secondary a year after finishing 19th in the in pa sing yards allowed and 31st in touchdown pa ses permitted. Despite its struggles on Jack Crawford Jersey the back end, the Colts' defense still managed to finish ninth in the NFL in total points allowed. Along with allowing fewer pa sing yards, the addition of Gilmore should help the Colts' defense improve on third-down and red-zone efficiency after finishing 19th and 25th in the league David Wells Jersey in those areas in 2021. A 9-8 outfit in 2021, the Colts return some of the league's top players in linebacker , cornerback , defensive tackle , offensive lineman , receiver Jr. and running back . Taylor, the NFL's reigning rushing champion, finished second behind Rams wideout in Offensive Player of the Year voting.
