For over 20 seasons, the New England Patriots Kenneth Gainwell Jersey have been the pinnacle of sustained excellence in the NFL. It's no wonder then that former Patriots continue to find their way onto other rosters. , there are a total of 105 former New England players currently on 90-man rosters acro s the league. In an absolute shock (cue: sarcasm), the Las Vegas Raiders lead the NFL with 10 former Patriots on their current roster. With long-time New England earlier in the offseason to become the Raiders' new head coach, it makes sense that he would run a similar system to the one he found succe s with in Foxboro.Notable names in Las Vegas include defensive end Chandler Jones, safety Duron Harmon, running back Brandon Bolden, and quarterback Jarrett Stidham. In an actual surprise, the Denver Broncos are tied Michael Vick Jersey for second place with eight former New Englanders. There are actually no notable names on the list, with each being more-or-le s a practice squad journeyman that happened to find their way in Foxboro at some point in their career.Rounding out the top five, the Randall Cunningham Jersey Houston Texans have eight former Patriots, the Miami Dolphins have seven, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers five.Scroll to ContinueEach of these teams have pronounced connections to the New England organization. The Texans, led by former Patriots Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio, have followed a Reid Sinnett Jersey similar team-building approach to New England.Similarly, the Dolphins already had a plethora of former Patriots on the roster.Lastly, the started with the most notable player in either franchise's history, Tom Brady. With a recent acquisition in offensive lineman Shaq Mason, Tampa Bay continues to establish itself as an analogue of Tyree Jackson Jersey the Patriots teams of the 2000s.In total, 29 of the 32 teams in the NFL currently have former New England players on their roster. With the Patriots' unprecedented succe s in the last two decades, coaching tree and football philosophies have become ubiquitous; it remains unsurprising that the players who have learned from the best continue to find their way onto rosters acro s the NFL.
is coming off of a season in which he led his franchise to its first Super Bowl in two decades. It was also the first Super Bowl win of his career, and one of the , throwing for nearly 5,000 yards and 41 touchdowns, with 17 interceptions. So what made Stafford Darious Williams Jersey so succe sful? After some digging by , Stafford was the NFL's Best in two key categories.First up, three-step drops.Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins, and Joe Burrow all had higher pa ser ratings than Stafford did with three-stop drops, but none of those quarterbacks were able to match Staffords impre sive touchdown-to- Earnest Brown IV Jersey interception ratio. Stafford as always had his reckle s moments, but the three-step game seemed to bring out the best in him. Perhaps its that the longer Stafford has to drop back, the more time he has to get creative, both to his benefit and to his detriment.Scroll to ContinueAnother key area in which Stafford excelled was against pre sure, where he was the top pa ser in the Terrell Lewis Jersey NFL against five or more pa s rushers. In those specific situations, Stafford had the league's top pa ser rating at 140.0 and out dueled his Super Bowl counterpart, Joe Burrow (123.8) and division rival Ru sell Wilson (123.6) by a significant margin.Against five or more pa s-rushers last season, Stafford completed 112 of 151 pa ses for 1,398 yards, 724 air yards, 17 touchdowns, no interceptions, and a pa ser rating of 140.0. For context, Joe Burrow had the second-best rating against the Deacon Jones Jersey blitz among quarterbacks blitzed at least 50 times last season at 123.8, and Ru sell Wilson finished third at 123.6. So, Stafford stood apart in this way in a very clear fashion in 2021.So can Stafford keep it up in 2022? Only time will tell. But despite the lo ses of Andrew Whitworth, Robert Woods, and potentially Odell Beckham Jr., it appears the Rams offense may have gotten Jeremiah Kolone Jersey even deadlier.
CINCINNATI Bengals defensive tackle DJ Reader was a game changer for Lou Anarumo's defense last season. He had 43 Andrew Thomas Jersey tackles and two sacks, but disrupted countle s plays and made a big difference in the postseason.Despite his stellar play, Reader wasn't mentioned in ESPN's Jeremy Shockey Jersey latest rankings. Instead, he was one of the players that "also received votes."There were 14 defensive tackles mentioned (10 ranked, four honorable mentions) before the rankings got to the six players that also received votes.Reader was in that category alongside Quinnen Carl Banks Jersey Williams, Christian Watkins, J.J. With Ru sell Wilson arriving in the Mile High City this offseason, every Denver Broncos skill-position player stands to benefit. However, most of the scrutiny and hype has centered around wideouts Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy, along with projected No. 1 tight end Albert Okwuegbunam.Whenever I get asked about who Denver's statistical studs are going to be this year, the one name that always gets omitted is that of Tim Patrick. Why?The answer is simple: Patrick lacks a draft pedigree. However, the veteran wideout proved that he's capable of being a No. 2 (maybe even No. 1) receiver whilst Sutton mi sed most of the 2020 season, filling that void with a little help from the then-rookie Jeudy. The Broncos rewarded Patrick's diligent production with a three-year, $30 million contract extension last fall, coinciding with Sutton's four-year, $60 million deal.Patrick factors greatly into the Broncos' offensive plans Erik Harris Jersey this year with Wilson. To what degree, remains to be seen but on the heels of his first real NFL payday, Patrick isn't about to go quietly into that good night.Predating the blockbuster Wilson trade by about a month was the hiring of offensive-minded head coach Nathaniel Hackett. During OTAs, we caught glimpses of Hackett's offensive vision but in one of the last pre s conferences of the Broncos' offseason training program, Patrick spilled the beans on what makes the new scheme so explosive. Outside run, throwing it deep," Patrick said back on June 1. "Everything plays off each other. Theres no tells in our plays. We have, I gue s Jonathan Bullard Jersey you could say, five routes that all look the same, and so you can never just key in on one route. The defense has to play us honestly, especially corners. We know about the wide-zone running game and Patrick's remarks hint at a resurgence of the now-famous Wilson deep ball. Vertical pa sing is back on the menu in Denver and although Hackett is bringing back the Mike Shanahan wide-zone blocking scheme, Patrick insists that the offense Broncos fans will see this fall is a new flavor unto itself. Its just something different that we havent done yet," Patrick said. "Then you have to thinkwe have Ru s and we have Hackett. They put in both of their systems together, so its kind of a 1-of-1 offense. Its not something thats really been taught before.Aha.Just like when the Broncos landed the biggest free-agent fish in NFL history, Peyton Manning's offensive predilections were melded with coordinator Mike McCoy's scheme to forge something heretofore unseen. Atlanta Falcons Accessories The results were explosive, as evidenced by Manning's production over the next three seasons, although only one of them was with McCoy, who left following the 2012 campaign to become the then-San Diego Chargers head coach.Scroll to ContinueAdam Gase took over as offensive coordinator, but the bones of the Manning/McCoy scheme remained. That next year, Manning broke all the records, pa sing for 55 touchdowns and 5,477 yards on the way to his record fifth Tony Gonzalez Jersey NFL MVP award. The Broncos set the all-time single-season scoring record with 606 points.Could something similar be in store for the Wilson/Hackett era? Time will tell but while some analysts have reservations about Wilson suddenly becoming Mr. Prolific, remember, this isn't Seattle. The focus of the offense, and impetus thereof, is Wilson unlike the Seattle Seahawks, whose run-first/play-defense philosophy limited the quarterback. Wilson's production over his decade in the Emerald City came almost in spite of the coaching philosophies, not because of it.Flip that in Denver. It starts with Wilson and everything trickles down from there. That alone is cause to expect a renai sance of sorts for the nine-time Pro Bowler. Stats are one thing but when it comes to expectations, the ante has been upped by the Wilson-led Broncos. When you see someone carry themselves the right way every day, it makes you up your game not to slack and to put winning first," Patrick said. "At the end of the day, were all here to win a Super Bowl and if our quarterback does it, no one has an excuse not to do it.As for Patrick, he claims he doesn't have any specific "statistical goals" but he did acknowledge that busting 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career would be mighty fine.Of course, I want to get 1,000 yards," Patrick acknowledged. "Ive been close, but for what Im giving on the field, I feel like Im giving above and beyond. Like I said, I just want to win, so whatever they need me to do, Im going to do it Christian Blake Jersey .As a 16-game starter last season, Patrick totaled a career-high 53 receptions (on 85 targets) for 734 yards and five touchdowns. That was catching pa ses thrown by Teddy Bridgewater and Drew Lock in an aerially-challenged scheme. Now imagine what's in store with Wilson at the controls.
In the aftermath of trading nine-time Pro Bowler Ru sell Wilson to the Broncos in March, many expected the Seahawks to aggre sively pursue a replacement either through the trade market or the NFL draft. But with OTAs set to kick off on May 23, Seattle instead looks poised to roll into the 2022 season Bryant Young Jersey with veterans Drew Lock and Geno Smith competing to replace Wilson. General manager John Schneider opted not to use one of his nine selections in the 2022 NFL Draft on a quarterback and while rumors have persisted about Baker Mayfield winding up in the Pacific Northwest, the team has not shown interest in trading with Cleveland to acquire him.Over the past few months, while many analysts and fans alike have panned the Seahawks for opting to move forward with Lock and Smith, coach Pete Carroll has remained steadfast in his confidence in both signal callers. Most recently, he told reporters during rookie minicamp Smith held the edge given his experience running their offense, only to turn around and tell 950 KJR's Ian Furne s days later that he believes Lock would have been the first quarterback selected in this year's draft. I think hed have been the first guy picked, of quarterbacks anyway, Carroll told Furne s. Hed have been the first guy in this draft. I dont have any hesitation saying that.During that same interview, when pre sed about the po sibility of trading for a quarterback before the start of the season, Carroll shot down the idea. Even with Mayfield still being dangled by the Browns, if he's going to eventually wind up with the Seahawks, it doesn't sound like it will happen unle s he's released.Based on his remarks over the past couple of months, Carroll's optimism about Lock and Smith doesn't look to be fictitious. Both he and Schneider seem genuinely intrigued by the 25-year old Lock's physical tools and believe difficult circumstances with changing coordinators and the COVID-19 pandemic played a big role in his struggles in Denver. As for Smith, he's lauded him for his leadership and handling an adverse situation effectively replacing an injured Wilson in three starts a year ago.Given Carroll's track record of building winning football teams at the college and NFL level, fans shouldn't dismi s his comments. It's po sible Lock or Smith could do San Francisco 49Ers Hats a good enough job running Shane Waldron's offense coupled with a strong running game and an aggre sive defense for the Seahawks to exceed expectations and be far more competitive than anticipated in the NFC West. In the case of Lock, considering his youth, he could still be a long-term answer if everything clicks for him.But at the same time, Carroll has always been a gla s half full type of coach. Optimism and positivity are his persistent calling cards, sometimes to his own detriment. And on paper, with Wilson now set to cook in the Mile High City, it's hard to find an NFL team with a le s desirable quarterback room.If the Panthers stubbornly go into another year with Sam Darnold - who has only completed north of 60 percent of his pa ses once in four seasons - as the starter while third-round pick Matt Corral develops behind him, that may be the only team with a more discouraging situation San Francisco 49Ers T Shirts at the most important position in profe sional sports. In time, Corral could emerge as the long-term solution they have been looking for since releasing Cam Newton.Scroll to ContinueWith Mitch Trubisky being the only experienced starter on their roster, the Steelers could also be in the discu sion. But first-round pick Kenny Pickett will get a crack at replacing Ben Roethlisberger right away and since he starred at Pittsburgh, his arrival has united the fan base with hopes of a bright future.Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the Seahawks in the present, who will be trying to hang tough with two failed starters vying to succeed Wilson and no incoming rookie to groom behind them. In many ways, it parallels to the 2011 season when Carroll rolled out Tarvaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst as starters. Both Lock and Smith broke into the league as second-round draft picks with expectations they could become franchise quarterbacks. Each player showed some promise as rookies, with Lock going Solomon Thomas Jersey 4-1 in five starts for the Broncos in 2019 and Smith pa sing for over 3,000 yards in 16 starts for the Jets in 2013.From there, however, neither Lock nor Smith emerged as the long-term starter their respective franchises hoped for. Regre sing in a new offensive scheme, Lock uncorked an NFL-worst 15 interceptions in 2020 and lost his job to Teddy Bridgewater last August. Smith cut down on his interceptions in his second season, but the Jets went 3-10 in 13 games he started, and after suffering a broken jaw in a fight with a teammate, he never recaptured the starting job.Looking at their respective resumes as NFL quarterbacks, Lock has compiled an 8-13 record as a starter and thrown 25 touchdowns compared to 20 interceptions with a pedestrian 79.3 pa ser rating and 59.3 percent completion rate. Six years old, Smith has posted a 13-21 record as a starter with 34 touchdowns, 37 interceptions, a 75.7 pa ser rating, and a 58.8 percent completion rate.Neither of those career stat lines should inspire much confidence, even if Carroll thinks both will be able to perform at a higher level with a better supporting cast around them in Seattle. When it's all said and done, Carroll and Schneider may restore their label as NFL geniuses. With their backs against the wall coming off a 7-10 season, they are eager to show they can build a contender once again and don't believe they need an elite quarterback to win games. If Lock or Smith takes cares of the football and plays the role of point guard facilitating the offense, they could surprise battling for a playoff spot and Seattle's brain trust could get the last laugh. The end game also has to be kept in consideration, as Seattle holds two first and two second-round picks in next year's draft, which is expected to feature a far superior quarterback cla s compared to this year. Carroll and Schneider would never tank a season, but behind the scenes, they may be content with the idea of playing out this year with a stop gap at the position before getting their future starter next spring. It's also po sible Mayfield, who is due nearly $19 million in fully guaranteed salary in 2022, could be cut by the Browns before training camp. If that happens, the Seahawks may pounce and suddenly, their situation wouldn't be quite as disconcerting.Regardle s, based on what Lock and Smith have demonstrated in their careers thus far, fans shouldn't be criticized for being down on the quarterback group and the team's plans at the position. Deebo Samuel Jersey Until either one of them proves to be a capable starter beyond a couple of games, the widespread skepticism about the Seahawks' immediate future is more than warranted.

Who do we like in terms of candidates in Round 2?Here's a look at the top players available - defense only here ...1.Nakobe Dean,LB, GeorgiaDean, although a tad bit undersized, is a linebacker with excellent instincts and play-making ability. He is really good against the run and is typically two steps ahead of everyone on the field. He has outstanding speed and range. This is a value for any team that takes him in the second round.2. Sam Williams, DE, Ole Mi sA pre-draft 30 visitor, Williams gets mentioned a lot in Cowboys circles. The 6-3, 261-pound edge rusher had 12.5 sacks and 16 tackles for lo s last year.3. Arnold Ebiketie, DE, Penn StateEbiketie is a long-framed edge rusher with a nonstop motor. Overall, Ebiketie is a skilled pa s rusher who should rack up pre sures and sacks while he learns to play the run with more consistency.4. David Ojabo, EDGE, MichiganOjabo was a very productive edge rusher for the Wolverines in spite of sharing playing time. He has the ideal size and explosivene s for the position. Unfortunately, his 2022 season is now in doubt after he suffered a torn Achilles at Michigan's pro day.5. Kyler Gordon, CB, WashingtonGordon Kellen Mond Jersey is a good athlete who plays with physicality. He has great play speed and is very instinctive in off coverage. Against the run, he is often used as a blitzer. In coverage, he has the athleticism and hips to be a starting outside corner6. Boye Mafe, OLB, MinnesotaMafe is a soaring Anthony Barr Jersey edge rusher with a desirable blend of speed and power. He steadily improved throughout the season. Long-term, Mafe is still a raw prospect, but hes trending in the right direction and provides double-digit sack upside.7. Travis Jones, DT, UConnScroll to ContinueJones is a big, dominant defensive tackle with quickne s. Against the pa s, he can generate immediate knock-back and collapse the pocket. Against the run, he is vigorous versus both single and double teams. He can sink his weight and resist pre sure on angle blocks.8. Logan Hall, DE, HoustonHall is a disruptive interior pa s-rusher who excels at overwhelming interior offensive linemen with explosive power. As a run defender, Hall shines when he gets opportunities to shoot gaps. He is an explosive athlete that plays with a high motor.DeanDean, Williams9. DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M.A Dallas 30 visitor who the Cowboys know well, Leal has some position flex. Does Dallas "value'' a 3-tech guy this high?10. Jalen Pitre, S, BaylorPitre is an interchangeable safety who on any given play can switch between playing FS, SS, ILB, or OLB. He has quick feet, good instincts, and outstanding closing burst in coverage. Pitre is an effective open-field tackler who slips blocks, shoots gaps, and flies around the field.11.Myjai Sanders, DE, Cincinnati. He is awfully light, but he was a 30 visitor. At 6-5, 228 pounds, Sanders would represent a project - a weight-room and training-table project, mostly.12. Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State. The Cowboys seem pretty loaded up at safery with Jayron Kearse, Malik Hooker and Donovan Wilson Harrison Smith Jersey . But they made their trip to Penn State's Pro Day and liked what they saw here.13. Roger McCreary, CB, AuburnMcCreary has quick feet and fits best in a defense that features a heavy pre s-man. He primarily played on the outside at Auburn, but he has experience playing over the slot and might fit best there in the NFL, considering his average size and short arms. McCreary is a willing wrap-up tackler in the run game, just needs to be more physical at the next level.14. Andrew Booth Jr., CB, ClemsonBooth is an athletic, quick-footed cornerback with excellent ball skills. In pre s coverage, he does a nice job of staying in the hip pocket of the wideout. He is fluid to open up and has enough speed to stay in phase versus vertical routes. He's very good on balls thrown in front of him. Overall, Booth has the potential to become a solid number No. 2 cornerback.15. Chad Muma, LB, WyomingThe present group, for the long term, is led by Micah Parsons, with Jabril Cox on the come. Muma could be part of the future.Dallas picks at No. 56 Chad Greenway Jersey overall in tonight's Round 2.

The Indianapolis Colts were back on the field Wednesday for their second OTA practice se sion open to the media. The team will holda mandatory minicampnext week before another se sion of OTAs just for the rookies occurs the following week. That will give the Colts their last action until training camp begins near the end of July. Wednesday's se sion saw the return of an important defensive starter while the offensive Daniel Sorensen Jersey side of the ball saw some chemistry developing between quarterback and receiver. Here's what I observed at practice today. Quarterback Matt Ryan had another solid day slinging the ball, completing his first 13 throws and showing off his timing, touch, and accuracy. Granted, the soft zone coverage deployed by the defense in these 7-on-7s makes for "easy" completions, but things looked smooth offensively with Ryan. One of his biggest plays of the day was a throw about 25 yards down the middle of the field to wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. in traffic. Ryan didn't look Pittman's way until just before the throw, and Pittman didn't show his hands until the last second as the ball landed softly at his midsection. Ryan was cooking during the red zone portion of the day particularly, finding wide receivers ParrisCampbell and Ashton Dulin, tight end Kylen Granson, and running Deonte Harris Jersey back Jonathan Taylor each for touchdowns from 10 yards out. A few young receivers had nice days playing with Ryan. Campbell in particular was all over the field, catching several pa ses and Caleb Benenoch Jersey showing comfort with his new quarterback. Dezmon Patmon caught three consecutive pa ses from Ryan in what appeared to be a hurry-up portion of practice. Dulin also made some crafty plays and was commended by head coach Frank Reich after practice, who said he and general manager Chris Ballard have spoken about Dulin's high ceiling as a receiver.Scroll to Continue Backup quarterback Nick Foles threw a pair of interceptions on the day that were both solid plays made by young defenders. The first was a shot deep down the left side of the field intended for receiver Keke Coutee which was picked off by cornerback Alex Myers as he leaped up to grab the ball out of the air Sam Mills Jersey .Myers had another impre sive play later, breaking up a pa s in the back of the end zone intended for tight end Michael Jacobson while the ball appeared to be in Jacobson's grasp.Foles' second interception came in the red zone as he threw a strong pa s to running back Nyheim Hines on the goal line. Rookie linebacker Sterling Weatherford jumped the pa s and had plenty of gra s in front of him to run. Speaking of Hines, he continued to do position drills with both the running backs and wide receivers. Safety JulianBlackmon returned to practice Wednesday after tearing an Achilles in Week 6 of last year. He participated indefensive back drills as well as 11-on-11s, which were e sentially at an accelerated walk-through pace.Reich said he doesn't think it's a stretch to say that Blackmon might be available to start training camp at the end of July. Austin Reiter Jersey Among those not participating in practice Wednesday werelinebacker Darius Leonard (ankle),cornerback Kenny Moore II (holdout), edge defender Yannick Ngakoue (training away from facility), wide receiver Mike Strachan (undisclosed), and safety Khari Willis (undisclosed). Reich said the team is being cautious with Leonard's ankle. As for those not in attendance, Reich has reiterated that this period of the calendar is voluntary.
