The NFL coverage map for Week 5 is set up for some late changes once again as positive COVID-19 tests continue to bounce around the NFL.The Buffalo Bills game at the Tenne see Titans had to be moved out of its original early-afternoon Sunday time slot after the Titans kept testing positive for the coronavirus. Hurricane Delta also could impact viewing po sibilities for viewers within its range. Pretty much as we've learned in 2020, expect the unexpected.MORE: Just like last week, each market will Green Bay Packers Golf Sporting Goods only receive one Fox game. Where have all the QBs gone? That will be an out-loud question at the 2022 NFL Draft, which runs from April 28-30 in Las Vegas. Unle s Liberty's Malik Willis makes a late surge, there likely won't be Alim McNeill Jersey a quarterback taken in the top 5 for the first time since 2013.In , Pitt's Kenny Pickett and Cincinnati's Desmond Ridder also are projected to be first round picks. Ole Mi s' Matt Corral, Nevada's Carson Strong and North Carolina's Sam Howell are expected Day 2 picks. It's a "meh" quarterback cla s and might prompt speculation that this might become a trend in future seasons.Don't worry. It won't. The next four NFL Draft cla ses appear to have an escalation in talent that could build up to one of the most-anticipated QB draft cla ses in 2026.MORE: Can you really look that far ahead? Of course we will.2023 Next year's QB cla s starts with a head-to-head debate at the top involving two power-house programs that could spill all the way into the College Football Playoff championship game. It's early, but Alabama's Bryce Young and Ohio State's C.J. Stroud easily could be the top two picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. Which one do you take?Young (6-0, 194), who won the Heisman Trophy last season, pa sed for 4,872 yards, 47 TDs and seven interceptions in his first season as a starter. There will be questions about his size and rushing ability, but he's a proven playmaker who will add to that resume.Stroud (6-3, 215) is the early favorite to win the Heisman this season. He pa sed for 4,435 yards, 44 TDs and six interceptions last season. He's going to pile up numbers in what could be a point-per-minute-offense at Ohio State. He's the better bet to go No. 1 at Detroit Lions Hoodies Sweatshirts this point.MORE: Young will join Tua Tagovailoa (2020) and Mac Jones (2021) as first-round picks. Stroud will join the late Dwayne Haskins (2019) and Justin Fields (2021). That's the expectation at Ohio State and Alabama now. They won't be the only first-round quarterbacks. Clemson's D.J. Uiagalelei (6-4, 249) is a bounce-back candidate who could cash in on a huge year with the Tigers. Spencer Rattler (6-1, 200) transferred from Oklahoma to South Carolina and could re-emerge on mock draft boards. Boston College's Phil Jurkovec (6-5, 226) has the dimensions, and Coastal Carolina's Grayson McCall (6-3, 210) has a chance to be a Group of 5 riser.MORE: We'll say at least four, maybe five, quarterbacks are taken in the first round.2024 It's all about Caleb Williams (6-1, 218). Williams flashed that skillset, and even drew a few comparisons to Patrick Mahomes II, after taking the starting job at Oklahoma.Williams is off to USC with coach Lincoln Riley, who has coached two No. 1 picks in Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray and another first-rounder in Jalen Hurts. Williams has more upside at the next level than all three of those guys, and he'll get the chance to show it in the Pac-12 with the Trojans next season.MORE: We haven't seen Quinn Ewers (6-3, 195) throw a pa s yet, but we're gue sing the five-star quarterback who recla sified then transferred from Ohio State to Texas, cashes in on more than just NIL opportunities. Ewers must prove he's more than just an elite arm talent. The other two potential first-rounders might get to play it out in the Big Ten's biggest rivalry. Michigan's J.J. McCarthy (6-3, 197) split time with Cade McNamara last season. Will that be the case T.J. Hockenson Jersey again in 2022? McCarthy has a big-time arm and some wiggle in the running game. The Wolverines haven't had a QB taken in the first round since Jim Harbaugh in 1987. You read that right. McCarthy has the talent to break that stretch.Don't forget about Ohio State's Kyle McCord (6-3, 210) either. He chose to stay at Ohio State while Ewers and Jack Miller transferred, and he'll be in position to be the starter when Stroud leaves. McCord and receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. won three state championships together in high school. McCord played well in his only start against Detroit Lions Hats Akron in 2021.That could potentially be the best quarterback matchup between Ohio State and Michigan since Troy Smith and Chad Henne in the No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown in 2006.We'll put it on the board. At least three of those four quarterbacks will be taken in the first round.2025 , there were four five-star quarterbacks in the 2022 recruiting cla s. Which ones could push up the board in three years?Cade Klubnik (6-2, 186) could push Uiagalelei for playing time at Clemson this season. We've seen Clemson coach Dabo Swinney ease Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence in as the starter, perhaps even this season.Drew Allar (6-4, 225) will be in a similar situation at Penn State that McCarthy was with Michigan last season. Sean Clifford is a sixth-year starter. Penn State QBs do get overhyped Anthony Morelli (2004) and Christian Hackenberg (2013) are the school's previous five-star QBs in the 21st century.Ty Simpson (6-2, 200) is battling Jalen Milroe for backup duties at Alabama now, and Conner Weigman (6-2, 208) will have a year to learn behind Texas A&M's Haynes King and LSU transfer Max Johnson.Of the next four cla ses, this is the one we're most unsure about.2026 This cla s starts at the top with Arch Manning (6-4, 215) who followed the footsteps of uncles Peyton and Eli to Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans. The hype around Manning's arrival to the college game will be off the charts, and we're going with the bloodline here. Peyton and Eli were No. 1 picks. The recruiting battle among Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and Texas has been intense. Is there room for a surprise school? It probably won't be Tenne see. Nicholas Iamaleava (6-5, 195) is committed to the Volunteers. He is making the cro s-country jump from Long Beach Poly High School in California to the SEC.Malachi Nelson (6-3, 180) de-committed from Oklahoma and followed Riley to USC. The bonus for Nelson is he stays closer to his home of Los Alamitos, Calif. Nelson will have a year to learn behind Williams before his star takes off with the Trojans.Jaden Rashada (6-4, 185) is yet another West Halapoulivaati Vaitai Jersey Coast five-star prospect from Pittsburg, Calif. Dante Moore (6-2, 195) is ranked ahead of Iamaleava at this point. Moore plays for Martin Luther King High School in Detroit. This cla s is stacked, and given the dominoes that could fall in the next four years, the buildup could be to one of those truly special quarterback draft cla ses in four years.See? There's no reason to worry.More franchise QBs are on the way.
Jamal Garrett Wilson Jersey Adams, the standout Jets safety who isimpatientlyawaiting a payday, has requested a trade, Thursday afternoon. The Jets-Jamal Adams situation continues to deteriorate. Adams informed the team he wants to be traded, a source tells ESPN. Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) Adams is entering his fourth year in a Jets uniform, so he's now eligible for a long-term extension. Adams has been pretty vocal about it, and now he sounds like Isaiah Williams Jersey he's just about done with the Jets. It's understandable, considering his desire for a new contract comes after back-to-back years of being named to the NFL's All Pro team, and his first All-Pro nod in 2020.Earlier Thursday, in a response to an Instagram user, Adams made it clear he still wants his money and cast doubt about his Jets future:MORE:In response to a comment on Instagram, Jets All Pro S Jamal Adams speaks on contract negotiations and concludes with Maybe its time to move on! Field Yates (@FieldYates) It was in line from Adams, and it's easy to see that things don't seem Tyler Conklin Jersey too happy in Florham Park. The Jets entertained trade offers for Adams earlier in the offseason, with surrounding the safety' Isaiah Dunn Jersey s future in New York also rampant at the trade deadline in 2019.The Jets, though, have little impetus to pay (or trade) Adams right away: With his fifth-year option picked up, Adams is under team control for at least two more seasons and has emerged as a team leader. While Jets general manager Joe Douglas has been adamant that Adams is an impact, franchisecornerstone player, there has been little movement from the Big Apple to satiate Adams' appetitefor a big raise.Adams feels like Trevon Wesco Jersey he should be paid like the game's top earners he pretty much a few months back but if nothing else, he's talking like one already.
Cooper Kupp has always been an underdog. He had no stars coming out of high school, , and he didn't even receive an offer to play for Eastern Washington until three weeks following the end of his senior year in high school. Kupp proceeded to set FCS records inreceptions (428), receiving yards (6,464)and receiving touchdowns (73).On Sunday, the 2017 third-round pick is on the verge of setting another record, this one in the NFL. Kupp has tallied 1,829 receiving yards in 2021, far and away leading the NFL. And when he takes the field for the final time in the Jevon Holland Jersey 2021 regular season, he'll have a chance to break the single-season receiving yards record set back in 2012 by Calvin Johnson.NFL single-season receiving yards record"Megatron" had one of the best careers of any receiver in the NFL, and in 2012, he was at the height of his dominance in the league. He caught 122 pa ses that season and recorded 1,964 receiving yards, breaking Jerry Rice's 1995 record of 1,848 yards. Johnson had gotten off to a seemingly normal start during the year, catching 41 pa ses for 638 yards in the first seven games of the season. However, over the final nine games of the campaign, he was on fire, Jason McCourty Jersey catching 81 pa ses for 1,326 yards with four touchdowns. He averaged 147.3 yards per game during that stretch.Since then, only three players have come close to Johnson's record. In 2015, both Julio Jones and Antonio Brown raced to see who would lead the league in receiving yards. Jones finished the season at 1,871 and Brown was second at 1,834. Entering the final week of the 2021 season, those two marks rank second and fourth for receiving yards in a single-season.Kupp has now entered the conversation. He has the fifth-most single-season receiving yards and figures to pa s both Jones and Brown, at least, on Sunday to move into second. The question will be whether he can pa s Johnson to claim the record. How many receiving yards does Cooper Kupp have in 2021?Kupp has had an extraordinary season. His 1, Miami Dolphins Hats 829 receiving yards lead the league by more than 300, and his 138 receptions are the most by more than 20. The next closest player in receiving yards is the Vikings' Justin Jefferson, who has just 1,509, while the Packers' Davante Adams is second in receptions at 117.Can Kupp catch Johnson's record? Here's how he's accumulated those yards this season. Kupp has not had the type of explosive single-game performances that Johnson had during his 2012 campaign. Johnson twice had games with more than 200 receiving yards and had two more with at least 160. Kupp has only once this season reached 160 yards (163 in Week 2).But just like how Johnson finished the season strong, so too has Kupp. Over his past seven games, Kupp has caught 64 pa ses for 810 yards, averaging 115.7 yards per game. During that stretch, four games have seen him record at least 120 receiving yards. The first game in that stretch came against the 49ers, where he caught 11 pa ses for 122 yards. Should he repeat that performance, he would come up just shy Jaylen Waddle Jersey in the chase for the receiving yards record, but he would tie Michael Thomas' 2019 single-season receptions record at 149.Kupp needs 136 yards to break Johnson's receiving yards record. He had exactly 136 against the Seahawks in Week 15 and twice during the season has had at least that many. The only other single-season record chase that is currently ongoing is that of Steelers' linebacker T.J. Watt going after Michael Strahan's single-season sacks record. Watt mi sed two games, and thus will finish the season at 15.Therefore, Kupp will be one of the first players put to the test of history with the record should he surpa s Johnson. In 16 games, Kupp is still 135 yards back of Johnson. But Kupp will have the added benefit of a 17-game season, whereas Johnson played in 16 games in 2012.Even Kupp has acknowledged that breaking the record would come under unique circumstances."What the guys did that set those records Mike Thomas, Randy Mo s for the touchdowns, what Calvin Johnson did with yards what those guys did in 16 games, it wouldn't seem right for those to be broken in 17 games," Kupp said, ."It wouldn't hold the same weight to me as it does for guys that have done that in a 16-game season. The accomplishments those guys had, the seasons those guys put together, those are incredible accomplishments, so you kind of have to Brandon Jones Jersey separate the two. We're in a new age of football here where we're playing 17 games a year. A lot of the stuff that happened before that, I think those records hold a different weight, being that they were played in those 16 games."It won't be easy for Kupp to set the new receiving yards mark. The 49ers have allowed the 28th-fewest receiving yards this season at just 3,309. But if anyone can help Kupp break the record, however, it would be Matthew Stafford. The current Rams' quarterback was under center throwing to Johnson throughout the record-setting season, and now has a chance to help another receiver set the mark.
The 2021-22 NFL playoffs feature five coaches with Super Bowl championships and four first-timers.Bill Belichick and Andy Reid are at the top of our NFL postseason coach rankings, of course, and it's hard to argue with 36 playoff appearances and eight Super Bowl victories. Belichick is a default setting at the top, but the rest of the list has some interesting debates.Should Green Bay's Matt LaFleur be ranked ahead of Los Angeles' Sean McVay? Try the same question with Buffalo's Sean McDermott and Tenne see's Mike Vrabel. Of course, Mike McCarthy is back in the playoff, too.It will be interesting to see which first timer out of Kliff Kingsbury, Zac Taylor, Nick Sirianni and Rich Bisaccia can get their first victory. With that in mind, here is a look at Ceedee Lamb Hoodies Sweatshirts Sporting News NFL playoff coach rankings:MORE: 1. Bill Belichick, PatriotsRecord: 290-143 (31-12 playoffs)Belichick tied Don Shula with a NFL record 19th playoff appearance by leading New England to a 10-7 record this season. Belichick has won six Super Bowls as a head coach and two more as a coordinator, and his presence alone in the playoffs makes the rubber-match with Buffalo interesting. Can Belichick lead a playoff run without Tom Brady? We're about to find out.2. Andy Reid, ChiefsRecord: 233-135-1, (17-15)Reid is fourth all time with 17 playoff appearances. There is a strong case to put Reid at No. 1 based on the "right now" factor. The Chiefs are looking for a third straight Super Bowl trip, and the Reid-Patrick Mahomes combo is 6-2 in the postseason. Reid is 7-6 in the playoffs since taking over at Kansas City. 3. Mike Tomlin, SteelersRecord: 154-85-2 (8-8)Tomlin has two Super Bowl appearances, and the Steelers have never had a losing record since he took over in 2008. Pittsburgh, however, has not won a playoff game since 2016. The Steelers did lead a last-minute playoff run to extend the Ben Roethlisbergerfarewell tour, but a matchup with the Chiefs won't be easy. That said, Tomlin could have a few tricks to make it competitive.4. Bruce Arians, BuccaneersRecord: 80-48-1 (5-2)Arians joined the Super Bowl-winning fraternity last season, and he has a chance to lead the Buccaneers to back-to-back championships. Tom Brady helps, but Tampa Bay has dealt with injuries and the fallout from Antonio Brown's release after Week 17. Still, the pieces are in place for another run, Amari Cooper Jersey and if anything Tampa Bay isn't being talked about enough right now. 5. Matt LaFleur, PackersRecord: 39-10 (2-2)LaFleur has led the Packers to the best record in the regular season, and that includes back-to-back NFC North championship appearances. Green Bay is set up for another run as the No. 1 seed, and the drama will be high given last year's offseason with Aaron Rodgers. LaFleur was questioned for the late field goal against Tampa Bay in last year's NFC championship. He responded well, but now is the time for a Super Bowl run. That won't be easy.6. Sean McVay, RamsRecord: 55-26, 3-3McVay has led the Rams to four 10-win seasons in five years, and he does have a Super Bowl appearance. LaFleur did win the head-to-head in the playoffs last year and regular season this year, however. The Rams have the star power nece sary to make another run, but it's on McVay to lead it now. 7. Mike McCarthy, CowboysRecord: 144-92-2, 10-8McCarthy has a winning record in Green Bay with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, too. He's the fifth coach on this list with a Super Bowl championship, and he's back in the playoffs after leading Dallas to a Dallas Cowboys Pet Gear 12-5 record. McCarthy is making his 10th playoff appearance, and his teams won at least one game in six of those 10 seasons. He hasn't been to the playoffs since 2016. We'll make him prove it again.8. Mike Vrabel, TitansRecord: 41-24 (4-2)Vrabel has four straight winning seasons, and the Titans are the No. 1 seed in the AFC despite the injury to Derrick Henry. Tenne see was a one-and-done last season, and they will get a tough second-round matchup. Can Vrabel get this team back to the AFC championship, this time with home-field advantage? 9. Sean McDermott, BillsRecord: 49-32 (2-3)McDermott is on a rollin the regular season. The Bills are 34-15 in the regular season, which is tied for the third best record in the NFL in that stretch. McDermott led the Bills to the AFC championship last season, and the talent is there on both sides to make another playoff run.10. Kyle Dallas Cowboys Rompers Shanahan, 49ersRecord: 39-42 (2-1)Shanahan does have a Super Bowl run, and the 49ers made an impre sive last-ditch playoff run this season. That said, Vrabel and McDermott have been more consistent in the regular season. Shanahan can prove that all over again by leading San Francisco to an upset win in the high-profile showdown against the Cowboys. 11. Kliff Kingsbury, CardinalsRecord: 24-24-1 (0-0)Kingsbury is making his first playoff appearance, and there have been ups-and-downs for the Cardinals this season. Kyler Murray was the right pick to build the franchise around, and injuries have got in the way this season. Still, Arizona won 11 games in a division that produced three playoff teams.12. Zac Taylor, BengalsRecord: 16-32-1 (0-0)Taylor's first two seasons produced a 6-25-1 record, but he silenced most of the critics by guiding the Bengals to a 10-7 record and AFC North Division title. The Bengals have a top-10 scoring offense at 27.1 ppg, and Taylor proved he's the right coach for a team built around offensive stars Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase. If the Bengals break a postseason win drought that extends back to 1990, then that will drive that point home. 13. Ezekiel Elliott Hoodies Sweatshirts Nick Sirianni, EaglesRecord: 9-8 (0-0)Sirianni is one of six rookie coaches who started the season, and he is the only one who made the postseason. The Eagles ranked 12th in the NFL in scoring (26.1), and Sirianni has maximized the talents of quarterback Jalen Hurts. Philadelphia won six of its last eight games, too.14. Rich Bisaccia, RaidersRecord: 7-5 (0-0)This is in no way a knock on Bisaccia, who took the Raiders to the playoffs as an interim coach following Jon Gruden's resignation. The 61 year old coach has been a lifetime a sistant in the college and pro game since 1983. Bisaccia deserves consideration for the Raiders' job, especially if they can beat Cincinnati in the AFC Wild Card round.
The Week 7 NFL schedule features four matchups between teams with records of .500 or better, and three of those are in the AFC.That starts with the Thursday Night Football matchup between 3-3 teams in the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos. Both teams are on losing streaks, and it's never too early for a must-win situation. The loser could fall out of their division race sooner than expected. The early window features two other AFC matchups. The Chiefs visit the Titans, and the Bengals face Landon Collins Jersey the Ravens. Cincinnati is the surprise 4-2 team of the bunch, and this is Joe Burrow's chance to beat another AFC North opponent on the road.Chicago travels to Tampa Bay in the other matchup. The Buccaneers lost to the Bears on Thursday Night Football last season, but they are double-digit favorites this time. Each week, Sporting News will pick games straight up, and we're looking to continue the hot streak. Here is a look at our season totals:Week 6: 11-3Season total: 64-30With that in mind, below are our picks and predictions for Week 7:NFL POWER RANKINGS: NFL picks predictions for Week 7Denver Broncos at Cleveland Browns (-4.5)Thursday, 8:20 p.m., FOX/NFL NetworkThe Browns are dealing with injuries all over the place, the most significant being Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt Russ Grimm Jersey , who will mi s multiple weeks. Baker Mayfield also has a nagging shoulder injury. The Broncos can compete here, but their defense has allowed too much in the pa sing game the last two weeks in lo ses to the Steelers and Raiders. Cleveland gets a win and much-needed rest, but it will be tight.Pick: Browns 27, Broncos 21Result: Browns 17, Broncos 14Washington Football Team at Green Bay Packers (-7.5)Sunday, 1 p.m., FOXWashington has the league's worst-scoring defense, and they have given up 30 or more points in four straight games. That's bad news against Green Bay at home. The Packers are beat up in the secondary, and Washington can hang around longer than expected.Pick: Packers 31, Washington 24Kansas City Chiefs (-4) at Tenne see TitansSunday, 1 p.m., CBSThe Titans have a short week before welcoming the Chiefs, who despite concerns still rank in the top five in yardage and points. Both teams allow too much in the pa sing game, so Patrick Mahomes and Ryan Tannehill should put up big numbers.Pick: Chiefs 34, Titans 29 Atlanta Falcons (-2.5) at Miami DolphinsSunday, 1 p.m., FOXAtlanta is coming off a bye week after playing in three straight one-score games, and the Dolphins are coming off an embarra sing lo s in London. Miami needs the running game to pick up around Tua Tagovailoa, who was efficient in his first start back from injury. We'll take the home team in a light upset.Pick: Dolphins 30, Falcons 27New York Jets at New England Patriots (-7)Sunday, 1 p.m., CBSRookie Zach Wilson has struggled with completion percentage (57.1) and interceptions (9). Mac Tress Way Jersey Jones has thrown interceptions (6) too, but he has a 71.1 completion percentage. The Patriots sweep the Jets.Pick: Patriots 25, Jets 15Carolina Panthers (-1.5) at New York GiantsSunday, 1 p.m., FOXThe Giants average 11.7 points per game at home, and the Panthers have a -5 turnover ratio through a three-game losing streak. That makes this a true to s-up game that could be an eye-sore. Anything can happen at that point, even a New York home victory.Pick: Giants 20, Panthers 19 Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (-6.5)Sunday, 1 p.m., CBSThe Bengals have been one of the surprise teams of the first third of the season around second-year quarterback Joe Burrow. Problem is they are running into one of the league's hottest teams in the Ravens and MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, who is 5-0 against the Bengals as a starter. The last three meetings have not been close, but this Cincinnati team is different.Pick: Ravens 30, Bengals 22Philadelphia Eagles at Las Vegas Raiders (-2.5)Sunday, 4:05 p.m., FOXThe Raiders beat Denver in Week 6 Billy Kilmer Jersey , and they continue to be an up-and-down in the AFC West. Same goes for Philadelphia, who has played tough against some of the NFL's best teams. Jalen Hurts seals this upset with the game-winning drive.Pick: Eagles 27, Raiders 22Detroit Lions at Los Angeles Rams (-16.5)Sunday, 4:05 p.m., FOXThis is one of three afternoon games with a double-digit spread. It's also Matthew Stafford's first game against his former team; one he should be able to exploit given the Lions' defensive i sues. That line might continue to tick up, too.Pick: Rams 36, Lions 20 Houston Texans at Arizona Cardinals (-18)Sunday, 4:25 p.m., CBSThe Cardinals are the lone unbeaten team, and they are 5-1 ATS this season with the fourth-highest scoring offense in football. Arizona has not beat a team by more than 17 points at home this season, however. Even against a dreadful Houston offense, that's something to monitor.Pick: Cardinals 38, Texans 22Chicago Bears at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-11.5)Sunday, 4:25 p.m., CBSBuccaneers, meanwhile, are 2-4 ATS this Charles Mann Jersey season. Those covers were as double-digit favorites, which is the case against the Bears. Chicago is 1-2 on the road this season with a pair of 20-points lo ses.Pick: Buccaneers 32, Bears 19Indianapolis Colts at San Francisco 49ers (-4.5)Sunday, 8:20 p.m., NBCHow many former FCS quarterbacks can fit on one NFL field? San Francisco has a murky situation with Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance, and Carson Wentz has thrown multiple TDs without an interception in his last three starts. The Colts can pick off the 49ers in a close one if Wentz continues that trend.Pick: Colts 26, 49ers 23New Orleans Saints (-4.5) at Seattle SeahawksMonday, 8:15 p.m., ESPNThe Saints are 2-1 on the road this season, and they had a bye week to prepare for the Seahawks. Watt could not "fully understand" the boos heard during a pre-game moment of unity in protest against racism and social injustice ahead of the NFL's season opener.Players from the Super Bowl champion Chiefs and the Texans linked arms prior to Thursday's contest, which the Chiefs won 34-20 at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs are among the teams letting supporters into their arena during the coronavirus pandemic and, despite fewer than a quarter of the seats being filled Jacoby Brissett T Shirts , boos could be heard from pockets of the stands."The moment of unity I personally thought was good," Texans defensive end Watt told NFL Media."I mean the booing during that moment was unfortunate. I don't fully understand that. There was no flag involved. There was nothing involved other than two teams coming together to show unity."Unified for change. Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) The NFL has opted to alter its stance on protests this season, with end zones to bear the words "End Racism" and Indianapolis Colts Pet Gear "It Takes All of Us", while players can display the names of victims of social injustice on their safety helmets.Houston players stayed in the locker room during the national anthem, while the Chiefs' Alex Okafor took a knee.Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said: " We wanted to let everyone know that we had their back. You can go ahead and whatever you feel is the right decision in your heart, you have your brother's back and you have your brother Will Fries Jersey 's support on this team."And we made sure that everybody was comfortable in that area and they weren't gonna get backlash from anybody on this team for doing that. And I thought it was a great show of unity amongst both of us, the Chiefs and the Texans.''Texans coach Bill O'Brien stated he did not hear any booing Jonathan Taylor Jersey and pondered whether the jeers may have actually been for his team as the opposing side."I thought that that was a nice thing to do, so I'm not sure why they would boo that," O'Brien said."Maybe they were just booing us because we had just come on the field as the visiting team. But yeah, I thought that that was a nice gesture."Chiefs coach Andy Reid also said he did not hear the boos and added: "I thought that was kind of a neat deal, both sides coming together for a cause and the story was told there."We can all learn from this, and really it's just Carson Wentz T Shirts to make us all better, even a stronger country than we already are. We have a chance to just be completely unstoppable when all hands join together and that's a beautiful thing."
After last week's sleepy divisional battle between the Eagles and the Giants, NFL fans will be treated to an NFC South clash between the Panthers and Falcons on Thursday Night Football in Week 8.The Panthers and the Falcons both have losing records, but they each have some serious talent on the offensive side of the ball. That will surely excite NFL DFS players,as there will be plenty of options to choose from in this game after last week's lackluster slate. Our FanDuel single-game lineup will try to pick the right combination of offensive starswith a high floor and high ceiling. There are plenty of worthwhile MVP options on this week's slate, but we're targeting the safest one of the group: A consistent quarterback taking on a bad defense. Usually, doing that would mean we have one of the highest owned MVPs, but because of the other high-priced options, this player may be high-owned but not in the top spot. We're spending almost all of our budget but are leaving a bit of room just in case Christian Andre Roberts Jersey McCaffrey is able to return from an ankle injury. We'll pivot to him if he can play, but for now, he's not in our lineup. (UPDATE:McCaffrey is officially OUT.)MORE WEEK 8 DFS: | | FanDuel Single-GamePicks: Joshua Kelley Jersey Panthers vs. FalconsMVP (1.5x points): Teddy Bridgewater, Panthers ($13,500) Somehow, there are four players on the slate with higher prices than Bridgewater -- Christian McCaffrey, Mike Davis, Matt Ryan, and Calvin Ridley. While all are certainly playable in this matchup, if healthy, Bridgewater being priced below them is questionable. Bridgewater has at least two TDs in three of his last four games and put up 20.82 FanDuel points in his last meeting with the Falcons. He has a high floor but also a very high ceiling against a Falcons team that has allowed the most fantasy points per game (FPPG) to QBs. He's an ideal MVP pick, as others may go with one of the RBs or Ryan despite Bridgewater being the safest option.MORE TNF: | | | FLEX: Mike Davis, Panthers ($15,000) If McCaffrey (ankle) can't return to action for the Panthers, Davis should be played in single-game lineups. He has logged just 16.6 total FD points the past couple of weeks, but the matchup Los Angeles Chargers Hats against the Falcons is far more favorable than his outings against the Saints and Bears. The Falcons don't allow a lot ofrushing yards, but they have been torched by RBs as receivers this year. They are the only team to allow four receiving TDs to RBs and have given up the sixth-most receiving yards to the position. Davis has been a solid receiver and could have a chance to repeat his last outing against the Falcons in which he racked up 25.4 FD points. We will have to pivot from Davis toMcCaffrey if he plays, but if not, fire Davis up as a high-ceiling contributor.WEEK 8 DFS CASH LINEUPS: |FLEX: Todd Gurley, Falcons ($12,000) The Panthers are one of six teams to allow nine or more TDs toRBs this season. Last time they played Gurley, he had a season-high 121 rushing yards despite getting just 14 carries in the game. Gurley should continue to find running room against the Panthers, who allow the fourth-most FanDuel fantasy points to RBs at a mark of 27.9, and may be able to do some damage as a receiver against the Panthers' poor pa s defense against RBs (56 catches, 401 yards allowed both lead the NFL). Gurley has five TDs in his last four outings, too, so he's just a safe all-around pick.WEEK 8 DFS TOURNAMENT LINEUPS: | FLEX: Robby Anderson, Panthers ($10,000)Since we have Bridgewater and the Falcons secondary has allowed the second-most total yards to WRs this year (1,561) behind only the Seahawks, we wanted to get a couple of his receiving weapons. Anderson made sense Gerald Everett Jersey given that he is cheaper than D.J. Moore but has just as much upside. Anderson has shown great chemistry with Bridgewaterand is averaging 6.6 catches and 91.4 receiving yards per game. He should do well against a Falcons secondary he burned for eight catches and 112 yards in early October, and if he can get John Hadl Jersey a TD in this game -- he has just one this year -- he could pay off big time. Either way, his 13.33-point average on FD is solid and will give us plenty of opportunities to earn double points with him and Bridgewater working together.FLEX: Curtis Samuel, Panthers ($8,000)We're going Panthers-heavy with this lineup. Samuel is one of the better value plays on the slate, as he has been getting consistent touches for the Panthers. He has seen 7.3 touches per game and has averaged 54.3 total yards in that span. That may not seem like a lot, but the fact that he's involved both as a runner and a receiver is good, and he did score a rushing TD against the Saints last week. Samuel could find succe s against the Falcons defense and had 8.9 points against them last time out. If he can find the end zone again, he should reach double digits.By fading Moore and playing Samuel, we're getting key lineup differentiation.
NFL OTAs are underway, and with the voluntary workouts came the usual slew of drama that certain players won't be showing up.Every year, a handful of big-name players sit out this portion of the offseason. This is due to a variety of factors both on and off the field. Some veterans like to sit out to get some extra rest, but others try to send their teams a me sage by skipping them. The 2022 NFL offseason will be no different. Several big-name star players are choosing not to attend the workouts, and while their absences don't matter yet, they could be a harbinger of longer-term i sues or potential holdouts. So, what should you make of players like Deebo Samuel and Baker Mayfield as they skip OTAs? Here's a breakdown of a handful of stars who aren't at OTAs and why they are skipping the event.MORE: What are NFL OTAs?NFL OTAs are the "organized team activities" Malcolm Butler Jersey that clubs hold during the offseason. They are "completely voluntary," according to and they tend to be held in late May and early June; the start date for the OTAs vary from team to team.Notable NFL OTA absences for 2022Because OTAs are voluntary, some star players will choose to sit them out. However, some of those stars choose not to participate because they have an i sue with their respective teams. It's important to note that's not the case foreveryOTA absence. However, when a player does skip OTAs due to an unresolved i sue with a club, it can be the first sign that the problem between the two parties could be a long-term one. With that in mind, here is a list of the most notable 2022 OTA absences that could signal longer- Robert Alford Jersey term troubles between teams and players:Baker Mayfield, BrownsDeebo Samuel, 49ersKyler Murray, CardinalsTerry McLaurin, CommandersDiontae Johnson, SteelersAaron Donald, RamsMORE:Why is Baker Mayfield absent from Browns OTAs?Mayfield is absent from Cleveland's OTAs as he seeks a trade away from the team. He made his trade request shortly after the Browns' initial pursuit of Deshaun Watson became public. At first, it appeared that Cleveland wasn't going to land the embattled Texans quarterback. However, Watson changed course and joined the Browns. Since then, Mayfield has remained steadfast that he would like to be traded, but the Browns haven't found a suitor. As such, Mayfield remains on the roster, and the Browns seem to want to keep him there. Watson could be suspended, so Cleveland may want to have Mayfield around as a top backup in case that happens.Mayfield is doing what he can to get out of Cleveland and start fresh. That's part of why he is holding out from Browns OTAs. He wants to show the team that he isn't willing to serve as a backup for them to try and force them to move on from him.Why is Deebo Samuel absent from 49ers OTAs?Samuel's absence from 49ers OTAs is similar to Mayfield's absence from those of the Browns. Samuel wants to be traded, but the 49ers have been unwilling to budge on any potential offers to date.Samuel's i sues with the 49ers stem from his usage as a hybrid receiver/running back. He reportedly wants to run the ball le s while still being compensated as one of the top receivers in the NFL.Samuel is under contract for 2022 and the 49ers can franchise tag him after the season if they like. So, they have some control over the situation. Samuel is trying to regain some of that by holding out.MORE: Why is Kyler Murrayabsent from Cardinals OTAs?The drama between Murray and the Cardinals has been simmering the last few months, and it has reached a boiling point a couple of times during the offseason.Long story short, Murray wants a new contract that compensates him as one of the NFL's top quarterbacks. He Greg Dortch Jersey hasn't gotten that yet, as Arizona seems content waiting to extend Murray. The 24-year-old quarterback has yet to win a playoff game and has dealt with nagging injuries late every season during his career. So, Arizona may be willing to wait and see if he can stay healthy Max Garcia Jersey and win late in the year. But if Murray holds out into mandatory minicamp, the Cardinals may have to start worrying about what they will do at the quarterback spot. Why is Terry McLaurin absent from Commanders OTAs?McLaurin is one of the talented receivers selected in the 2019 NFL Draft that is due for a lucrative extension soon. He is sitting out OTAs as he looks to negotiate that with Washington. As he awaits a new contract, Commanders WR Terry McLaurin did not attend the start of OTAs on Monday, according to multiple people with knowledge of the situation. He has not attended workouts at all since the conclusion of the draft. Nicki Jhabvala (@NickiJhabvala) Jhabvala also reports that McLaurin and the Commanders"remain far apart" in contract negotiations. So, this could just be getting started. That said, it's worth noting that Washington didn't spend big in free agency, and reports that was part of the team's plan to have the space needed to sign McLaurin. So, clearly, the Commanders want to get a deal done. Both sides just want to make sure the price is fair. Why is Diontae Johnson absent from Steelers OTAs?Another wide receiver drafted in 2019, Johnson has improved each of his first three seasons in the league. In 2021, he caught 107 pa ses for 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns.Johnson is sitting out OTAs as he seeks a new contract from the Steelers.Steelers OTAs: Diontae Johnsons no-show, Najee Harris legs and Brian Flores impactvia Mark Kaboly (@MarkKaboly) Fellow wideout Chase Claypool told Arizona Cardinals Hats reporters that Johnson's absence is no cause for alarm."I dont think it is a big deal, but I know people will make it a big deal because people need clicks and stuff," he said, . "It is not a big deal. We are going to get work in during the offseason."Why is Aaron Donald absent from Rams OTAs?Donald's situation is a bit different than the other players above. He has nothing left to prove, as he has been one of the NFL's best defensive players ever in recent seasons. The Rams have been working on a restructured contract with Donald to make him the highest-paid defensive lineman in the NFL. Coach Sean McVay said the between the two sides, but no deal has been agreed to yet. It's hard to imagine Donald showing up for voluntary workouts not knowing whether he'll have the contract he wants, because if he doesn't get that contract, he might retire. So, why take extra reps he may not need in voluntary workouts?
